Our first jump show together; this weekend meant more to me than the ribbons ever could.
We haven’t even put a full course together at home yet. We’ve been focusing on strength, fitness, and just getting back to feeling good. It seems like one of us has always had an injury or something going on, so I wanted to take this weekend slowly.
I kept the jumps small to see how Copper handled a full show weekend, always prioritizing his soundness.
I haven’t trusted a horse this much in years. I didn’t realize how much confidence I had lost until I felt it start coming back this weekend.
Copper gave me that.
We ended up Reserve Champion for the weekend and won our Under Saddle class, but those ribbons are just the cherry on top. I’m most proud of the trust we’re building and how much fun I’m having again.
Thank you, Copper, for giving me confidence I thought I had lost. I love this horse more than words can say
