League Standards/Housekeeping.
As we prepare for games next week, I want to address an important aspect of our league that, while not always enjoyable to discuss, is necessary to ensure a positive experience for everyone involved.
This is an adult league, and the emphasis here is on adult. While I am not here to tell anyone how to conduct themselves in their personal lives, participation in this league comes with expectations and standards of behavior. You may agree with these standards, disagree with them, or feel indifferent toward them. Regardless, they are non-negotiable. If these expectations do not align with how you wish to participate, we respectfully ask that you seek another league that better suits your preferences.
Our goal is simple: to create an environment where everyone can come out, enjoy the game, and feel welcome.

People participate for many different reasons. Some play for fun, fitness, competition, friendship, personal development, or simply a love of soccer. Whatever your reason for playing, you are welcome here, and we want you to be part of the league.

However, there are certain behaviors that have no place in our league:
Poor sportsmanship
Foul, abusive, or disrespectful language, particularly when directed at teammates, opponents, referees, or league staff
Violent conduct
Threatening or intimidating behavior
Repeated failure to attend matches after committing to play (we understand that emergencies and unavoidable conflicts happen)
Prioritizing winning at the expense of the enjoyment and experience of others and yourself.
We all want to compete and win. Competition is an important part of the game. However, winning should never come before respect, sportsmanship, and creating a positive environment for everyone involved.
Our league exists to provide an enjoyable, safe, and welcoming experience for all participants. We appreciate your support in maintaining these standards and helping us build the type of community that people want to be a part of.
Thank you for your cooperation and commitment to the league.

Lastly, Spectators during Summer 11v11. Should not be on the field. There are bleachers for spectators to view and enjoy the game from. Field 1, spectators should be at the side closest to the carpark, restrooms. Not behind the players. They will be asked to move once and only once. If they make no effort to move, we will the abandon the game until it is resolved.

Adult Soccer League – Week 2 Wrap-Up
Week 2 delivered everything we've come to expect from adult league football: goals, drama, questionable defending, and at least one team wondering if they accidentally registered for the wrong division.

Argentinos Jrs 5-1 Smashed FC
Argentinos Jrs picked up where they left off, comfortably dispatching Smashed FC. The scoreline suggests a straightforward evening, while Smashed FC's lone goal at least spared them the dreaded nil on the scoresheet. Small victories, as they say.

CCFC Phoenix 1-1 FC Veracruz
Two of Week 1's winners met in what many considered an early title-contender showdown. Jhon Trujillo struck for Phoenix, while FC Veracruz battled back to earn a point. Neither side blinked, neither side lost, and both remain firmly in the conversation at the top of the table.
Trash Pandas Take Out the Rubbish
Trash Pandas 5-2 Los Plebes Del Norte FC
The Trash Pandas finally got their attack rolling, putting five past Los Plebes Del Norte FC. After a hard-fought draw in Week 1, the Pandas showed they have much more bite than their name suggests.

Blue Ballers FC 1-1 FC Diabolical
After storming through Week 1, FC Diabolical discovered that goals don't always arrive on demand. Jonathan Aguilar's strike earned Blue Ballers a valuable point and handed Diabolical their first dropped points of the season. Somewhere in the league, rival managers are breathing a little easier.

Mummies FC 13-0 Tire Express FC
Well... where do we begin?
The Mummies didn't just rise from the dead—they unleashed absolute chaos. Gustavo Medina delivered a jaw-dropping six-goal performance, Fernando Urgell added four of his own, Alexis Leon grabbed a brace, and Manuel Quintero joined the party as well.
At one point the scoreboard operator reportedly requested overtime pay.
Tire Express FC endured a night they'll be eager to forget, while the Mummies served notice to the entire league that they may be the team to beat.

QCP FC 4-0 Burnout FC
Two weeks, two wins for QCP FC. Darlan Banegas continued his Golden Boot charge with another brace, while Melvin Rosa and Denilson Pinel Villalobos added goals of their own. Burnout FC worked hard but couldn't find a way through a disciplined QCP side.
Week 2 Team of the Week

C-TOWN FC 0-3 MIXTIADO FC
Nothing was reported.

Beercelona FC 2-1 Highbury FC
After taking a heavy defeat in Week 1, Beercelona FC bounced back in style to earn their first victory of the season. Whether it was tactical adjustments, improved fitness, or simply remembering which goal they were attacking, the response was impressive.
Highbury FC continue their search for their first points of the campaign. The effort is there, but the football gods have yet to smile upon them.

5 Stars 2-1 Wanderers
5 Stars made it two wins from two matches, edging out Wanderers in a closely contested affair. Wanderers battled hard and kept themselves in the match throughout, but 5 Stars found the extra quality when it mattered most.
It's not always pretty, but good teams find ways to win. Right now, 5 Stars are doing exactly that.

See you next week, where every team still believes they're winning the league—except the teams who've already started blaming the referees.

Evening MASA,

The little tournament known as the World Cup kicked of yesterday, But, the biggest tournament in Mooresville Kicked off on Wednesday! MASA Summer 11v11! What a start to the season. Players fell over, some got megged, some scored worlds and some tried to run and pulled muscles they didn't know they had. Just like the World Cup itself.

Adult Soccer League – Week 1 Wrap-Up
The new season kicked off under the lights at Cornelius Road Park, and if Week 1 is anything to go by, we're in for a cracking season. Goals flew in, clean sheets were treasured, and a few teams may already be questioning their summer recruitment strategy.

Mixtiado FC 4-3 Blue Ballers FC
A proper end-to-end thriller to open the campaign. Isaac Riffle clearly skipped the preseason rust, bagging a hat trick and earning Man of the Match honors. Blue Ballers fought hard with goals from Landon Chapman, Thomas Moreno, and Zack Trudelle, but ultimately came up one goal short. Entertaining for the neutral, stressful for everyone involved.

FC Veracruz 4-2 Burnout FC
FC Veracruz announced themselves as contenders with a clinical performance. Roslainer Socarras led the charge with a brace, while Alejandro Jaramillo and Geovani Vega chipped in. Burnout FC stayed in the fight through Carter Birdsall and Ray Hernandez, but Veracruz had too much firepower.
Mummies Rise From the Dead
Mummies FC 4-3 Los Plebes Del Norte FC
As expected, the Mummies refused to stay buried. Gustavo Medina delivered a Man of the Match performance with two goals, supported by Rodrigo Galarza and Alexis Leon. Los Plebes pushed them all the way, but the Mummies wrapped up all three points before heading back to their pyramid.

C-Town FC 3-3 Argentinos Jrs
Neither side fancied losing their opener, so they settled for a six-goal draw. Defenders from both teams may have requested that this fixture be quietly forgotten.

CCFC Phoenix 4-0 Beercelona FC
A dominant display from CCFC Phoenix, who looked sharp from the first whistle. Esteban Trujillo netted twice, while Jordan Cook and Manuel Quintero added their names to the scoresheet. Beercelona FC will be hoping next week includes more football and less hangover.

Wanderers 1-1 Trash Pandas
A hard-fought draw saw Robert Melvin strike for Wanderers, while Paige Oram delivered for the Trash Pandas. Both teams earned a point, and both probably feel they deserved all three. Football can be wonderfully unfair.
Statement Victory

FC Diabolical wasted no time living up to their name. Griffin Nixdorf grabbed a hat trick and Landon Metzler added two more in a ruthless attacking display. Smashed FC endured a difficult evening and will be hoping Week 2 arrives quickly.

QCP FC 4-1 Highbury FC
Darlan Banegas stole the show with a hat trick as QCP FC cruised to victory. Melvin Rosa added another, while Kosei Dohi provided Highbury's lone response. Arsenal supporters everywhere will be familiar with Highbury's desire to turn things around next week.

5 Stars 2-0 Tire Express FC
Paige Oram capped off a remarkable evening by scoring both goals for 5 Stars after already appearing on the scoresheet earlier in the night. That's two matches, three goals, and enough running to make everyone else reach for an ice pack.
Week 1 Golden Boot Leaders
Griffin Nixdorf (FC Diabolical) – 3 Goals
Isaac Riffle (Mixtiado FC) – 3 Goals
Darlan Banegas (QCP FC) – 3 Goals

MASA,

thank you for one of the best seasons to date. Since we started the league in 2011, to where we are now, is incredible to think. That is down to you as players. However, we do need a HUGE thank you to the team Captains, for organizing you, making sure you turn up and making the tough selection decisions.

Thank you, to Mike, Tommy, Cristian, and our new recruit Adam. They help make it possible.

Thank you to Mooresville Rec Dept, for their amazing complex and allowing us to play and be part of the soccer community.

Hello MASA,

Rain, penalties, extra time… and absolute playoff chaos.

Well, the semifinals have officially survived the weather, the nerves, and several players discovering that wet turf moves significantly faster than their knees do.

Rain absolutely played its part this week — turning slick passing moves into accidental comedy sketches and making every 50/50 challenge look like a scene from a nature documentary. The semifinals are complete.
And what a week it was.

Now… it all comes down to THE FINALS — MAY 13TH.
Come out and watch.
Because if these playoffs have taught us anything, it’s that absolutely nobody is safe once the whistle blows.

SEMIFINAL RESULTS
FC Veracruz 5 – 2 BetterChinoHills
Veracruz were sharp, ruthless, and smelled blood early. BetterChinoHills fought hard, but Veracruz simply had another gear.

Footballers 2 – 1 Got Any Icy Hot
Tight, tense, and properly scrappy. Footballers edged it with the sort of determination usually reserved for people chasing the last chicken wing at halftime.

QCP FC 2 – 2 Mixtiado FC
Mixtiado FC win 4–2 on penalties
A battle that refused to separate itself until penalties delivered the cruelest ending in football.

Tuzos FC 7 – 3 Telameto FC
No subtlety here — just goals flying in from everywhere. Tuzos attacked like a side late for dinner.

Real Caguama 4 – 1 Titans FC
Efficient, composed, and very little panic involved. A proper semifinal performance.

FCD 40 6 – 2 Real Old
The Over-40s proving once again that experience matters… especially when combined with selective running and very loud communication.

La Familia 5 – 1 Tossers Reunited
A statement win. Clinical from start to finish, with La Familia looking every bit like a side chasing more silverware.

C-Town FC 4 – 1 CCFC
Disciplined, dangerous, and absolutely no interest in making things easy for the opposition.

Goal Diggers 4 – 2 FC Diabolical
A proper heavyweight clash. Goal Diggers handled the pressure better and punched their ticket to the final.

H-Town FC 4 – 2 Brisket Rovers
Plenty of attacking football and just enough defending to keep things technically legal.

This is it.
One more game.
One more chance at glory.
The finals are set, the stakes are massive, and somewhere already there’s a player claiming:

FINAL WORDS FROM HQ
To everyone still standing — congratulations.
The playoffs have delivered everything:
Chaos, quality, controversy, and enough penalties to shorten several lifespans.
Now we finish it properly.
See you under the lights for Finals Night.

Thank you

Morning MASA!

Week 11 arrived with proper knockout tension — no second chances, no gentle exits, just a one-way ticket either to the semifinals… or to the sideline with a cold drink and opinions about what should have happened.
And oh, it delivered.
We had last-minute winners, extra-time drama, and of course, the dreaded penalty shootout — football’s finest way of turning grown adults into nervous wrecks.
There were heroes everywhere:
Keepers suddenly channeling prime World Cup form.
Strikers discovering clinical finishing at exactly the right time.
And defenders throwing themselves at the ball like it owed them money.
Some matches were smash-and-grab jobs, others hard-fought battles, and a few good jobs.

WEEK 11 RESULTS

Weaklink FC 3 – 4 FC Veracruz
A proper scrap — Veracruz just edging it with enough composure to avoid collective panic.

CCFC 4 – 2 Toffees FC
Clinical when it mattered. Toffees getting stuck.

BetterChinoHills 4 – 1 Wanderers
Confident, controlled, and no real drama — just how managers pretend they drew it up.

Mazzeppa Legends 3 – 5 Real Old
Experience meets efficiency. Real Old showing they’ve still got plenty left in the tank (and possibly better stretching routines).

Da Bury 2 – 4 Tuzos FC
Tuzos came to business — and finished it.

Highbury FC 1 – 5 Telameto FC
A statement win. Ruthless, sharp, and not much mercy shown.

Velocity FC 3 – 4 QCP FC
End-to-end chaos — the sort of match where defending is more of a suggestion.

Chaos FC 1 – 6 Got Any Icy Hot
Icy Hot living up to the name — soothing performance for them, painful for Chaos.

FC Diabolical 8 – 2 Gordos FC
Goals, goals, and… more goals. Diabolical weren’t messing about.

Blue Ballers (5) – (5) Brisket Rovers
Brisket Rovers win 5–4 on penalties
Level after everything — settled the only way knockout football truly knows how:
with nerves, drama, and at least one player who absolutely did not want to take a penalty.

Mixtiado FC 4 – 3 Galaxy FC
A tight one — edged by grit, determination, and possibly louder shouting. In extra time.

SEMIFINAL PLAYOFF RULES – READ ‘EM (AND REMEMBER ‘EM)
Everyone else: Win or go home. No excuses. No appeals to VAR.
Two halves of 25 minutes
Level after 50 minutes? → 5 minutes extra time (single period — no time for tea)
Still level? → Penalty Shootout begins
5 per side
Then sudden death (heart rate optional)
Penalty takers must remain on the field
Teams with uneven numbers even it out (yes, your keeper counts — sorry mate)
Red cards carry into next season — so perhaps avoid theatrical revenge tackles.

Thank you.

Hello MASA!
Well, would you believe it? Ten weeks gone! With no rain, lots of goals, a few cheeky nutmegs, and the occasional “friendly discussion” with the referee (conducted, naturally, at a perfectly reasonable volume).

The Regular league season has climaxed, hamstrings are tight, and ankles are sore, now — just when everyone thought they might get a quiet evening — it’s time for the PLAYOFFS.

A moment to CONGRATULATE our league winners, some oh so close. To all our champions, golden boot winners, and Players of the Season. The drinks are on you. Don't forget to come collect something shiny waiting for you at the End of Season Dinner on May 20th. 🏆

The Semifinal Draw will be held live under the concession stand after next week’s games.
Stop by.
Grab a snack.
Pretend you’re calm while secretly hoping to avoid that one team.

From all of us at MASA — a massive thank you.
You’ve shown passion, commitment, and good humour all season long.
Well… mostly good humour. 😄
Now go heal up, fuel up, and prepare yourselves for playoff football — where legends are made, and hamstrings are tested beyond reasonable limits.
Eat well.
Hydrate responsibly.
Enjoy a well-earned beverage or two (strictly for recovery purposes, obviously). 🍺
See you under the lights next week.
Game on.

THANK YOU, From MASA
And remember:
