New kind of recap that came unexpectedly...

William Shields entered his first RC car race tonight with a Losi NASCAR Busch Series Joey Logano RC car he bought with his own money Monday. After qualifying, he landed 4th in the B Main. The winner of lower mains advance to a spot in the A Main feature race.

He started 6th in the feature race (100 laps). He captured a Podium Finish with a WIN.

Thanks to Wyatt Snyder and Brody Snyder for helping prep his car for an awesome first race.

Stepping up next, Summer Series Race #2 - TONIGHT - festivities start at 6 PM with awards from Summer Series Race #1, then the lights come on and the kids go racing ~ 56 cars registered!

Here's a recap from Summer Series Race #1 - June 11th...

Summer Series season kick-off. We love the Summer Series... no qualifying, no lowers, just racing!

After check-in and pill draw, William was set for 6th position (P6) in the feature Heavy Honda event. Addilyn was set for 3rd position (P3) in the feature Blue Rookie event.

Addilyn: P3 > P3
She quickly moved into 2nd position, which she held for most of the race, finishing 3rd.

William: P6 > P4
He was quick to advance from P6 to P3 during the first lap. During Lap 4, he moved up to 2nd, which he held for a good portion of the race, before falling back to 4th late and was unable to recover to a podium finish.
