Welcome to Jack Rabbit Distillery where all of our spirits are distilled in small batches and bottled by hand. The distillery unofficially started in Ukiah CA during the winter of 2010. This hobby has traveled across several states before returning to my home state of Indiana. Soon we hope to have our Distillery up and running in a central Indiana community. The recipes for each of our products ha
ve been developed across the United States. We have literally traveled from coast to coast meeting people, reviewing technics, and developing our spirits in small 40 liter batches. I am often asked where the name Jack Rabbit Distillery came from. One early morning, I was stopped at a traffic light trying to think of a cool but yet simple name for a distillery. As I was sitting at the light a large rabbit hopped out onto the road and stopped. The light turned green and the driver at the front on the line laid on the horn. The determined rabbit stood its ground looking at the developing line of traffic. As the light turned red the rabbit turned and slowly returned to the side of the road. I thought to myself what a brave, stubborn, determined, and dumb rabbit. Not knowing what type of rabbit, I used the first type that came to mind “Jack Rabbit”. Yes, Jack Rabbit Distillery has a nice ring to it. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.
