INDUSTRY VETERAN GARY IFFT NAMED GNSS TECH DIRECTOR
The Grand National Super Series Presented By ECC is proud to announce that Gary Ifft will take over the technical director role for 2026. Ifft has made a substantial impact on the local short track racing scene, recently holding positions on the CARS Tour and South Atlantic Pro Series. Ifft gained the love of racing from his father, David, who called shots atop the pit box for the likes of Cale Yarborough, Darrell Waltrip, and David Pearson among many others.
"I've known David for 40+ years", series co-owner Bob Schacht remarked. "I've always had high respect for David, and to watch Gary grow up alongside him and continue his father's legacy has been a privilege. It's a pleasure to add him to our team."
It was a similar story for Bob's better half and series co-owner, Patty Schacht. "I raced against Gary's dad when he crew chiefed for Patty Moise. Bringing Gary's knowledge and integrity to the tour will certainly make a positive difference", Schacht said.
When asked about the upcoming season, Ifft expressed his enthusiasm. "I'm excited about the 2026 season and I can't wait for it to start. This series has some really great people involved, and I plan on having a great year with all of the staff that Bob and Patty have put together. And that's not to mention the great competitors as well."
Time is ticking down to the start of the 2026 GNSS season. Stay tuned for more announcements coming in the near future.
