BK Runs 100 Miles Welcome to my page! Follow along as I train, grind and endure the Wyoming Range 100 on 08.07.2026

Miles have been there this year.

But it hasn’t all felt right.

After Memorial I’m changing it up a bit.

Time to build something stronger.

Dark road at 5 AM.
6 miles. Strength work.

Just a normal Tuesday now.

Training for Wyoming Range 100.

Running looks peaceful from the outside.

Inside my headphones it’s a full blown clubbin’ experience. No cover charge!

What’s the first song on your running playlist?

This page started as a way to share the Leadville 100 journey and connect with other runners along the way.

What surprised me most wasn’t the miles. It was the conversations, the encouragement, and the people who showed up for me.

So I’m keeping it going.

Next goal: Wyoming Range 100.

This page will keep being what it’s always been. I’ll be sharing the miles, the hardships, and hopefully encouraging someone else to chase a big goal too.

Glad you’re here.

Runner Question 🙋‍♂️

Do your feet hurt like mine when you run?

Since my Leadville 100 Run I have been dealing with a small bunion on my left foot at the metatarsal. My feet are not quite wide enough for wide shoes. They are also a little too wide for normal shoes.

I thought it was just something I had to just live with.

Then a friend in PT school Morgan Wolf sent me these lacing techniques and it completely changed how my shoes fit.

Turns out a lot of foot pain while running is not just the shoe. It is how the shoe is laced.

Different lacing patterns can help with
• heel slipping
• pressure on the top of the foot
• bunions or toe pain
• wide forefoot
• high arches

I switched to the wide forefoot pattern and it instantly relieved pressure on my bunion and removed the foot pain!

Game changer.

If you are dealing with foot pain on runs, try adjusting your lacing before you go buy new shoes.

Sometimes the fix is already in the shoes you are wearing.

Save this post for later. Your feet will thank you.

VULNERABLE POST HERE!

Did my 4 weeks Inbody scan on Friday.

I lost 3.7 lbs in 4 weeks.
All of it was lean mass.
Body fat went up. I was frustrated and confused!

Mileage up.
Lifting down.
Ran in a deficit.
Didn’t fully refuel back to back long runs.

I thought lighter meant faster.

That works for a 5K.
Not for a 100 miler.

Endurance training is already catabolic.
Underfuel high volume and your body will pull from muscle.

The scale lies.

This block isn’t about getting lighter.
It’s about getting durable.

Fuel. Lift. Protect muscle.

A lot of you followed the Leadville 100 last year.

This one is different.

In August 2026 I’m running the Wyoming Range 100.

Same distance. Totally different beast.

Leadville is loud, historic, and exposed.
Wyoming is quiet, remote, and unforgiving.

Less crowds.
More isolation.
Long climbs. Big descents.
Real wilderness. A real quad burner.
Yes… bear spray is required.

Leadville tested my gut and my tolerance for the grind.

Wyoming is going to test my legs, my head, and how comfortable I am being alone for a long time.

I’m not trying to recreate Leadville.
I’m chasing a new kind of hard.

If you liked following that journey, this one is going to feel wilder, darker, and more personal.

I have been thinking about this photo since the day I saw it.

My friend and business partner Aaron Jaqua captured this moment.

This is Ken Chlouber, the founder of the Leadville 100. When the mine closed and the town was facing collapse, Ken and Merilee created this race to keep the community alive. Leadville did not give up, and because of that, thousands of runners get the chance to test themselves on these mountains.

At the athlete meeting, the day before the start of the biggest race of my life, Ken told us, “If you quit this race before you finish, you are going to have to call me and tell me why.”

When I crossed the line I told Ken the truth. The biggest reason I finished was because I could not imagine making that call to say I gave up. This is a picture of me delivering that message.

This photo means more to me than just finishing a race. It is a reminder to keep going when things look bleak. Just like the town of Leadville did not quit, we do not have to either.

Welcome to the Leadville Family.

The best memories are not made at the finish line. They are made along the way. 🏔️✨

On the long drive home from Leadville I realized the highlight was not crossing the finish line. It was the moments in the middle. The laughter with my crew. The encouragement from other runners. My pacers giving me good feedback, positive vibes, and some of the best conversations through the night.

In running and in life we get caught up chasing milestones like deadlines and promotions. But when you come to your finish line it is not the titles or things we smile about. It is the coffee breaks, the inside jokes, and the shared stories along the way.

Leadville reminded me that the finish line matters, but the process and the people are what make it meaningful.
