Rising 10th grader Kenley Turner is one of those young ladies who conquers every single task she sets her mind to. Thank you, NASP, for featuring our sweet girl. To know her is to love her!

And then there were five! This team saw so much growth and dedication this year. Our team of 31, understandably and expectedly, dwindled as the regular season ended, schedules shifted, graduation came and went, and summer vacation began. Somehow, looking at these five young athletes, it makes sense that the championship would end with them. Standing strong and making memorjes together. They represent a group of young people who made not even one excuse for not bringing their A-game to every single practice, match, and tournament. They are not only outstanding archers but outstanding leaders on this team, in our school, and in our community. Gracelynn, Dylan, Nick, Peyton, and Kenley, congratulations on an outstanding season that took you from Moody, AL to Louisville, KY to Daytona Beach, FL…and many other destinations along the way. To Betsy, thank you for seeing this through to the end and coaching these kiddos all the way to the championship. It’s been an honor to have you and your family be part of this team and this incredible journey. I love you all. As I pass the torch, just know that I will continue to cheer you on!!! This team is just getting started!

🫶🏻🏹🎯

A super secret tip from a state champion..."When I have a bad arrow, I always take a breath and then refocus. I did just that, but this time instead of closing my eyes I looked down at the word “breathe” written along the toe of my shoe. Not just for looks, but as a reminder. I had put the work in; all I had to do was trust my process and my form. So that’s exactly what I did."

What is the “world championship?” It’s actually the final congregation of archers that have competed in the eastern or western national tournament and qualified for the final championship of the season. Our bullseye and 3D teams both qualified to compete at the highest level next month in Daytona. This is not a requirement of any of our archers, but several made the decision to travel with their families to compete at this final level in NASP Archery. 12 of our bullseye archers and 7 of our 3D archers will complete on Friday, June 19, exactly one month from tomorrow. This is truly a testament to the hard work and dedication of this amazing team of young men and women. Go Blue Devils!!!

Just when you think these kids have “tapped out,” they do yet another thing! This crew has qualified to attend the championship in Daytona in June! Some of our amazing archers and their parents are heading to Florida this summer to represent our community in the growing sport of archery! Well done, Blue Devils! Well done! 🎯

A few more candids from Nationals. These “Blue Devil Huddles” happen at every tournament between rounds. It’s a blessing to witness the support, bonding, and camaraderie among these young archers. These moments of “downtime” are just as essential to growth snd team building as focus and consistency. 💙 And yes, that first picture includes new friends made from another team. These kids are so kind, friendly, and inclusive of all.
