I’m trying to bring well-deserved college attention to two of the most productive guards in the state of Florida. This is the highest-scoring backcourt in the state. Lecanto High School’s JT Tipton and Braylen Moore have combined for over 5,000 career high school points.
I’ve been riding with these guys—along with my son, Joe Philon III—since they were in second grade through The Skills Center. From the very beginning, we believed in playing the toughest competition possible, and I’ve watched JT and Braylen win at every level, all over the country, against UAA, UA Rise, EYBL, and 3SSB competition, as well as on their Lecanto High School team.
Some say they’re “system guys” who only thrive in a specific setup. That narrative doesn’t hold up. On the travel-ball side, there was no system—we had seven practices in five years. These are simply skilled basketball players who know how to play the game the right way.
They are now Florida Class 5A Final Four players.
Now that my son is at Montverde Academy, I’m around the top scholastic talent in the country on a daily basis. I can say this honestly: a lot of high-major recruits are not better than these two.
In a recruiting landscape where loyalty is rare, JT and Braylen have been penalized for staying loyal to their travel-ball and high school programs. They had options—but they chose commitment, development, and winning.
There is extensive film available, both in-house and on Synergy, that supports everything stated here.
Mid-Majors, Low-Majors, D2, NAIA—don’t miss out. Don’t let someone else uncover and secure these two hidden gems.
P.S. You wouldn’t believe the injuries these guys have played through.
