The Smashing Pumpkins Sweet 16 Pickleball Tournament is Back and is scheduled for Saturday, October 17, 2020.

Registration is open! Register on-line at www.montroserec.com or call MRD customer service at 249-7705 to register. The fee is $10.

There will be a 3.0 and a low 3.5 division that starts at 9:00 am (Check-in at 8:30 am) and a high 3.5 and 4.0+ division that starts at 12:45 pm (check-in at 12:15 pm). Make sure that you register for the division that best matches your skill level to keep the tournament competitive for all.

NEW! Each division will have about 1 hour after the scheduled tourney ends to continue to play. We want to maximize our out-of-town player’s time on the courts.

We welcome and encourage players to dress up for Halloween!

Congratulations to Doug Rood, winner of the MRD Bynum & Ullmann Volunteer Service award. This annual award celebrates the amazing volunteers who help the Montrose Recreation District build community and quality of life. The award is named in honor of the Montrose CRC leaders Barbara Bynum and Jason Ullmann. Doug has volunteered with the MRD pickleball program for over 6 years. He has been instrumental in growing the program through teaching new players, assisting with tournaments, conducting fund raisers, designing and building shade structures for the courts, donating materials and helping in more ways than we can list. Thank you Doug Rood for having the heart of a volunteer. We appreciate you!

Check out the new addition at our Montrose Recreation District pickleball courts.Thanks to MRD Administration, MRD Maintenance and V & S Concrete Construction for making this happen. Five truck loads of concrete and a lot of labor transformed our courts. Concrete has never looked so good!
