Virtuoso Series

Virtuoso Series A quarterly series showcasing innovative leaders in the adventure-based industry, presented by Montreat College's Team & Leadership Center and OE Dept. Why?

Presented by Montreat College's Team & Leadership Center and OE Department, the Virtuoso Series showcases some of the most innovative facilitators in the experiential, adventure-based industry. Our goal is to provide quality, affordable, specialized training opportunities and CEU’s with greater depth than a conference workshop. John Rogers from TLC: "This idea came about after attending a couple o

f full day workshops, one with Jim Cain and the other with Mike Gass. It was great to see them lead, and hear how and why they did things. I was inspired by their passion for what they do. It is difficult to get that in a standard workshop at a conference. The other factor was cost. We wanted to create something where you could come for the day and be home by that evening."

Besides temperature/weather appropriate clothing, sleeping bag, etc...), what do you think would be helpful in Winter programming?

Examples:
1) Warm beverages: tea, coffee, hot chocolate.
2) Hand warmers: reusable ones participants can reheat time and time again with little to no waste.

What do you think may be helpful? Please share!

i’m not a super mom. in fact, i’m pretty sure it’s an oxymoron or the opposite of a double negative, or something that cancels itself out. most days i’m just doing what has to be done, making sure my babes have what they need and praying that everything else falls into place. but there is …

Attendees not only enjoy the excellent trainings, they often express curiosity about our location. The Manor House, formerly known as "In the Oaks", provides a unique and interesting venue. Our workshops are held in what was used as the gymnasium.
This lavish structure sits a mere 15 miles from the Biltmore House, and has many design similarities. Though, the purpose for these two incredible homes are starkly different.
"Biltmore was built to show-off. This house was built to have a good time...The Terry’s were known for their parties. As such, the most interesting aspects of the home were constructed specifically not to be seen."
