MR&GC - Our Story

Monticello Rod and Gun Club was established in 1946 with a view to advance interest in shooting sports and in sound conservation practices. We’ve been involved in DNR’s Fi****ms Safety program for over 60 years and we are the oldest club in the State of Minnesota conducting Fi****ms Safety classes.

It is our function to promote good sportsmanship through improved marksmanship and proper care and use of fi****ms and to support improvement in game and fish habitat. It is also objective to encourage character development through honesty, responsible self-discipline, camaraderie, team play and self-reliance. These ideals are the foundation of patriotism.

While we are members-only organization, we open our gate to the public for numerous events. These include, but are not limited to: · Summer shooting leagues: Trap, and Pistol & Carbine; · Fall Rifle sight-in; · DNR Fi****ms Safety classes for youth, adults and DNR Fi****ms Safety instructors; · Permit to Carry classes; · …and more
