Meet Camorra Forrest! ✨

We are excited to welcome Camorra Forrest to the Alabama Dance Theatre faculty! Camorra will be sharing her passion for African Dance with our students this season, bringing energy, rhythm, culture, and dynamic movement into the studio.

“Hello, my name is Camorra Forrest. A personal goal for me this year is to continue growing in every style of dance while also perfecting the art of teaching. At one point in my life, I felt like I couldn’t dance, and the person who helped put me back on my path was my teacher. That experience showed me just how much of an impact teachers can have on their students. I love teaching so much because it gives me the opportunity to encourage, guide, and inspire others in the same way that my teacher once did for me. As I continue to grow as a dancer, I also want to grow into a teacher who helps others recognize their potential and reminds them not to give up on themselves. ”

Meet Jaclyn Speights! ✨

Jaclyn brings a love of movement and versatility to the ADT classroom. Teaching ballet, tap, and contemporary, she helps dancers explore different styles while continuing to build their technique and confidence.

“ I love teaching because I love to share the art of dance with others! I’m excited to work with the dancers this season on the balance between strength and flexibility, as well as on fine tuning their musicality. ”

Meet Joy Ohme! ✨

Joy brings her love and knowledge of ballet and pointe into the studio, helping dancers continue to strengthen their technique while developing confidence and artistry along the way.

“I love teaching because I love seeing my students improvement every single day. Every time my students make connections and have personal growth moments, it is exciting to watch. Each day is filled with challenges but we face them together. This year I hope my students achieve strength in their core, grow their minds, and open themselves to every challenge that is put in front of them with the best most positive attitude. To any family walking into my class, I welcome you and hope this is the best, safest, most positive place where your child grows and flourishes in their ballet training. ”

Jenny is an ADT Resident Choreographer and brings her creativity, artistry, and passion for modern dance into every class. She encourages dancers to explore movement, develop their own artistic voice, and continue growing as performers.

“I love teaching dance because I get to watch art come alive through these kids! To be a part of our dancers growth and see the discipline of this art form come alive in these dancers everyday, brings such a joy to me as a teacher. Meet Casey Vaughan Bailey! ✨

Casey is an ADT instructor who is passionate about helping dancers build a strong foundation while continuing to challenge themselves as they advance in their training. Through ballet and pointe, she helps students develop technique, confidence, and artistry.

“I love teaching at ADT and look forward to the excitement of welcoming a new season each fall! It is such a joy to watch our dancers embrace new challenges, grow in their technique and artistry, and gain confidence throughout the year. Being a part of their journey and seeing their passion for dance flourish is truly one of the greatest rewards of teaching.”

Meet Janie Alford! ✨

Janie is an ADT Resident Choreographer and instructor who brings energy, creativity, and a love of movement into every class. From ballet and jazz to hip-hop, Janie helps students explore different styles while continuing to grow as versatile dancers.

“I am looking forward to another great year at ADT! Our faculty strives to bring out the best in your dancer whether they are a young beginner or a more seasoned advanced dancer. One of the best aspects of teaching is watching the progression from the beginning of fall classes to the end if the year recital. It is truly amazing how much they learn and improve during the school year! ”

✨ Celebrating Addison! ✨

We are so incredibly proud of our graduating senior company member, Addison, for representing herself and Alabama Dance Theatre in the Distinguished Young Women of Montgomery County program! 💙

Addison’s hard work, dedication, and commitment have taken her so far — both in the studio and beyond. We’re thrilled to celebrate her for placing in the Top 8 and receiving an incredible $68,200 in scholarships from the University of Mobile and Distinguished Young Women! 🎓✨

What an amazing accomplishment and such a wonderful reflection of the determination and character Addison brings to everything she does.

Addison, we are so proud of you! We’re sending you the biggest air hug from ADT and can’t wait to see where this next chapter takes you! 🫂💙

Meet Sara Elyse Sanford! ✨

Sara serves as Assistant Director of Alabama Dance Theatre and is passionate about helping each dancer discover their individual voice, build confidence, and grow as an artist. She loves working with dancers at every stage of their training and watching them develop both in and out of the studio.

“I’m so excited for another season to begin at Alabama Dance Theatre. There’s always something special about the start of a new year in the studio—the energy, the excitement, the new goals, and all the possibilities ahead.

One of my favorite things is watching our dancers grow. Not just in their technique, but in their confidence, their artistry, and in discovering who they are as artists. I can’t wait to see how they challenge themselves, take risks, explore new ideas, and maybe even surprise themselves with what they’re capable of.

I’m so looking forward to the year ahead and all that we’ll create together.
