Montgomery Yellowhammers Rugby Football Club The Montgomery Yellowhammers Rugby Football Club (R.F.C.) was founded in 1984. The Hammers welcome anyone who is willing to give rugby a try. [www.RugbyClub.org]

was founded in 1984, comprised primarily of military personnel, but through the years it has become comprised mainly of civilians. Presently it appears to be comprised equally between civilians and military personnel. The Yellowhammers welcome anyone in The River Region with an interest in sport and camaraderie to come give rugby a try. While most members of the club have a background in collegiate or high school athletics no prior experience with the sport of rugby is required. Practices are every Tuesday and Thursday at 6:30 pm at AUM/YMCA Soccer Complex - Field 3.

One day our season will start, but not this week. Hurricane Isaias apparently hates rugby, so we will postpone until further notice

The Foosackly's Auburn final report is a disappointing one. The Hammers underestimated the power of the Macon Lovepack. Absolutely crushing runs set up try after try and a battered Yellowhammers team allowed too many turnovers at the breakdown.

Hats off to Macon for further humbling us.

Next week Battleship travels to the home pitch.

With all the rigamarole of the pre-season out of the way, and the unfortunate cancellation of 84 Cup Round 1 yesterday, we are officially underway with the fall season!

In a fortnight we will welcome Macon Love Rugby to the Gump for a friendly exhibition. Come out and support the Hammers! And until then, help us recruit!

Thank you to all our great sponsors who will help the season be another great success!

84 Cup Round 1 was slated for tomorrow, but with both the Hammers and Cruisers shorthanded, its postponed until further notice.

Instead, we, along with Wiregrass, send our boys to Birmingham to help understaffed Battleship who seek a motley victory over the Vulcans.

More congrats to our friends from around Alabama!
