We are investigating a deer disease that may be reaching our state, and we need your help!

Epizootic Hemorrhagic Disease can’t spread to humans, but it can cause short-term declines in deer numbers. It’s been reported in New York’s Hudson Valley, and we are watching for possible cases in Vermont. Let us know if you see deer that look weak or dehydrated, have died near water, or have died without a clear cause. You can get the word to our Game Wardens by calling your area’s State Police dispatcher (Northern VT at 802-878-7111, Southern VT at 802-722-4600).
