Evangel Christian School wrapped its home schedule and regular season Friday night with a 45-0 shutout of Evangel Christian Academy (ECA) of Montgomery. After Hurricane Zeta left its mark on South Shelby County earlier in the week, the game still went on despite damage on campus.

Congratulations to the Evangel Christian School (Home of the Lightning) baseball team on winning the 2019 AISA State Championship and to all those selected to the All-County team!

It was a historic season for local AISA and ACSC baseball teams, as the Evangel Lightning won the ACSC State Championship, the Kingwood Lions fielded their final team in school history, and both Coosa Valley and Cornerstone put together playoff teams that spent time inside the top 10 of the rankings...

The Evangel Lightning capped off an impressive 17-8 softball season with a sweep of the Tuscaloosa Home Educators on Saturday, April 20, to claim the 2019 ACSC State Championship.

The Evangel Christian School baseball team saved its best baseball of the season for Saturday, April 20, which was a scary thought for the Ezekiel Academy Knights considering the Lightning went 19-5 during the regular season.
