Congratulations Skylar!📣
Skylar Sippola earned 1st place at the Optimist Club of Birmingham’s Communication Contest for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CCDHH), receiving a medal and a $300 award.
She presented an original speech on this year’s theme, “The Moment I Realized I Belonged – My Definition of Community.”
With this win, she will advance to the District-level competition in Flowood, Mississippi on April 18, where she will compete against other students from across Alabama and Mississippi for a $2,500 college scholarship.
