The University of Montevallo has been named the Best School/University in the state of Alabama as part of the 2026 “Best of Bama” Awards by readers of Alabama Magazine, the state’s well-known lifestyle magazine. 🎉⭐

UM was selected following a tabulation of votes conducted with the magazine’s readership, revealing its choices for the best of Alabama’s entertainment, restaurants, people and places from the state’s northern border to the shores of the Gulf.

Alexandria Wrestling lost one of our own. Ryan wasn’t just a state champion he was the kind of kid who could walk into a room and make it better. No matter if it was in the wrestling room, at a tournament, or just being around the team, he was always cutting up, laughing, and making people smile. He competed hard, represented Alexandria with pride, and left an impact that went way beyond wins and medals.

You’ll always be part of this wrestling family, Ryan. Once a Valley Cub, always a Valley Cub. 🧡 🖤 JRL

The University of Montevallo Mass Communication Program has once again been recognized in the Broadcast Education Association’s Recognition of Institutional Excellence in Media rankings, standing out among 159 ranked schools! UM earned first place in the film and video competition in Alabama (22nd internationally) and ranked 74th for overall top programs internationally. 🎥✨
