The Roadless Rule protects the public lands we treasure.
The rescission of the Roadless Rule won’t just affect abstract lines on a map. It will directly impact the places we know and enjoy right in our own backyard.
Here in Central Oregon, areas under threat include Sparks Lake, Tumalo Falls, Metolius-Windigo, Flagline, Mrazek, South Fork, the Old Cascades Crest, and numerous sections of the Oregon Timber Trail. These aren’t distant or obscure places. They are trails, lakes, and forests that our local communities cherish and rely on.
This isn’t a concern unique to Central Oregon. Communities across the US will see their local recreation areas affected if we don’t speak up now. Standing up for these roadless regions means protecting the places that make our communities special and preserving water quality, fire safety, recreation and connection to the outdoors for generations to come.
