🏡 Could your backyard pool help more children learn to swim?

Water Ready Swim School is already planning for Summer 2027—and we're looking for new Pool Partners™ as we expand into additional communities.

Here's how it works:

You provide access to your backyard pool and a bathroom. We provide the professional instructors, swim programming, scheduling and families looking for lessons.

đź’™ Local families get convenient access to quality swim instruction close to home.

🏊 More children have the opportunity to learn important swimming and lifesaving water skills.

đź’° And you earn income from a pool you're already maintaining.

We're currently especially interested in pools in Verona, Livingston, Summit, West Orange, Millburn/Short Hills—but we're open to other nearby communities, too.

Why are we recruiting for Summer 2027 already?

Because now is the perfect time to see potential partner pools while they're still open. We'll be visiting prospective locations before pools close for the season so we can plan our Summer 2027 locations well in advance.

Have a pool that might be a fit? Or know someone who does?

👇 Learn more about becoming a Summer 2027 Pool Partner™ and fill out our interest form at the link in our bio.

Know a pool owner in one of these communities? Send them this post!

One question parents ask us all the time is:

"Should my baby start swim lessons before turning one?"

Here's what the current evidence tells us.

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) states that current evidence does not show that swim lessons for children younger than 1 year reduce drowning risk.

That doesn't mean water classes have no value.

Parent-child aquatic programs can help infants become comfortable in the water, introduce healthy water habits, strengthen parent-child interaction, and prepare children for future swim learning.

But when it comes to preventing drowning in infants, the most effective protections are:

âś… Close, uninterrupted, touch-distance supervision
âś… Four-sided pool fencing with a self-closing, self-latching gate (for home pools)
✅ Never leaving a baby alone in the bathtub or near any water—even for a moment
âś… Caregivers who know CPR

As children grow, age-appropriate swim instruction becomes another important layer of protection—but no single strategy is enough by itself.

At Water Ready Swim School, we believe water safety starts long before a child can swim. It starts with informed parents, safer environments, and building healthy water habits from the very beginning.

Most people see a 5-year-old showing her classmates she can open her eyes underwater.

We see so much more.

We see a little girl who came to us stuck — she'd tried other swim schools, but something just wasn't clicking. We see the patience, the gentle encouragement, and the steady practice our teachers used to get her here. And we see the moment it all paid off: the confidence to learn something hard, and the courage to stand in front of a whole classroom and show it off.

At Water Ready Swim School, teaching swimming skills is just the beginning. Our other goal is helping children build confidence that follows them everywhere — into classrooms, onto playgrounds, and through life.

Today, that confidence showed up during Show & Tell. đź’™

Way to go, swimmer! 👏

Testimonials from Kids are so fun! 💙✨

Our student Sienna is clearly so proud of herself! And her mom is beyond thrilled. Sienna is a kid who just couldn’t get over the hump at her other swim school. At Water Ready, she did it!

📝 In September: "I could not put my face under the water."
🌊 In May: "Now I can put my face under the water."

That's what building confidence looks like — one small step at a time.

We're so proud of Sienna and all the swimmers who continue to challenge themselves, build new skills, and celebrate their progress along the way. 👏

Every achievement matters. Every breakthrough counts.

We changed our name… and there’s a really important reason why. 💙🌊

For years, we’ve helped swimmers build confidence and safety in the water as LifeCycle Swim School.

But over time, we realized our mission had become bigger than traditional swim lessons.

Because real water safety is more than knowing strokes.

It’s being prepared: learning what skills to do when things don't go as planned.

Judgement.

And helping families become truly water ready. đź’§

That’s why we’re excited to share that LifeCycle Swim School is now…

Water Ready Swim School. ✨

You’ll still see the same trusted team and teaching philosophy — but with expanded programs, water safety education, and new resources designed to help swimmers of all ages become safer, stronger, and more confident in and around water.

This is more than a new logo.

It’s a clearer mission.

Welcome to Water Ready Swim School. đź’™

A lot of adults won’t say it out loud…
but they need to be able to stand to feel safe in the water.

If that’s you—you’re not alone. And you’re not “bad at swimming.”

You just never learned the skills that actually create comfort and control.

The good news? It’s completely fixable.

We work with adults all the time who:

* stay in the shallow end
* avoid deeper water
* feel anxious when their feet can’t touch

And we help them develop the skills that will help them feel calm, capable, and confident—even in the deep end. That means better floating, better treading and a calm effective stroke.

And if you have kids?

This isn’t just about you.

It’s about being able to:

→ confidently watch them around water
→ step in if something happens
→ truly be a capable Water Watcher

It starts with your own skills.

👇 Want a clear starting point?

Comment SWIM PLAN and we’ll send you our simple, step-by-step plan to help you build real comfort in the water.
