HoopStudy Academy is a year-round basketball training and player development program located at Montclair State University in Montclair, New Jersey. Our mission is simple: help athletes become more skilled, confident, and intelligent basketball players through a proven development system built from over a decade of working with players from youth basketball to the NBA. Unlike traditional basketbal
l training programs that focus solely on drills, HoopStudy Academy combines skill development, basketball IQ, film study, decision-making, confidence training, and game application to help athletes perform when it matters most. Led by internationally recognized player development coach DJ Sackmann and the HoopStudy coaching staff, athletes learn through a structured curriculum designed to improve scoring, ball handling, shooting, finishing, leadership, communication, and overall basketball IQ. Our coaches have worked with NBA players, professional teams, NCAA athletes, and elite youth prospects around the world. Every training session is designed to transfer directly to game performance through small-sided games, competitive environments, and real basketball decision-making. Programs are available for middle school, high school, and college athletes, as well as dedicated girls basketball development through our She’s Next program.
