It all started with a simple question: "We have a solution for walking on ice, but why not a solution for walking in cleats?"

Dealing with the downsides of walking in cycling shoes on an early Spring ride along Chicago's Lake Michigan shoreline, our founder and creator Lorri Cornett recalled putting on a pair of stretchy ice cleats just a few days before as a solution to an icy sidewalk. Any solution for cleats? No. The answer to the question now? Yes!

The U.S. Bicycle Route System announced the addition of three new routes and two major extensions, now spanning over 22,000 miles in 35 states and Washington, D.C. with at least 25 states currently developing additional U.S. Bicycle Routes.

“State departments of transportation are focused on delivering a safe, multimodal transportation system that offers mobility for all. The recent additions to and expansion of the USBRS network by Arkansas, California, Florida, and Wyoming further highlight the active transportation benefits that flow from partnership between AASHTO, state DOTs, and the AAdventure Cycling Association” said Jim Tymon, Executive Director of the
AAmerican Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO)
