Hershel Woody Williams Veteran Of Honor Award 2024 recipient announcement.

Each year at the PBR Lewisville presented by Zimmerer Kubota bullriding event in Lewisville,Tx Cox Event Productions along with Boot Campaign award a military veteran with the Hershel Woody Williams Veteran of Honor award. This award was created 7yrs ago in honor of Woody Williams. Woody served in Marine Corps during World War II and for his heroism during the Battle of Iwo Jima he was awarded the Metal of Honor. Woody spent 75 yrs of his life giving back to veterans & Gold Star Families. This award honors veterans for their military service as well as for their giving back to the veteran community.

The recipient of the 2024 Hershel “Woody” Williams Award has been selected-

Corporal Sean Sweeden

Sean Sweeden, a proud member of the Choctaw Nation, joined the United States Marine Corps right out of high school. After his Marine Corps service, Sean joined the Oklahoma National Guard. Later when his job relocated him to Texas, Sean joined the Texas National Guard.

Sean’s love and adoration of the Military led him to continuing his service to his country through our military veterans.

Sean’s post military career has been dedicated to supporting and assisting our military veterans through significant roles including Program coach, veteran resource specialist, veteran employer liaison and veteran career advisor.

Sean is dedicated to supporting returning service members in their transition from military service to meaningful civilian lives.

Sean is a active member of the Collin County Marine Corps League.

Sean Sweeden exemplifies what the Hershel Woody Williams Veteran of Honor Award stands for. Congratulations to Sean and his family.

Tickets for this event haven’t been offered to public till now. Prime rib dinner/drinks, cocktails with live entertainment from the Southern Cross Band, live and silent auctions and calcutta for attendees at Lewisville's scenic Sneaky Pete private banquet hall. 100% all proceeds from dinner and all funds earned by the live and silent auction items will go directly to veteran charity Boot Campaign.
