🔥What are the real roadblocks that keep you from reaching the Finish Line?

On the surface a lot of us might think….

👩 You haven’t prioritize yourself as the most important person in YOUR world.

☀️ You haven’t made reaching your goals a true priority. This means you let your healthy habits slide when you’re stressed/tired/something more fun comes along.

✨You haven’t set yourself up for success. It’s super easy to get discouraged and quit when you don’t have a plan, support, accountability, etc.

☔️You let one “slip” derail you. You still need to learn how to dust yourself off and recalibrate.

🤤 give this a try friends! On a side note, you can use all of these ingredients in many different dishes too!

Cheese Sauce
(makes 8 servings)

1 cup (130 g) peeled & diced white potatoes
¼ cup (30 g) carrots, diced
3 Tbsp chopped onion
½ cup (60 g) raw cashews
¼ cup (15 g) nutritional yeast flakes
1 Tbsp apple cider vinegar
½ tsp garlic powder
1 tsp Dijon mustard
1 dash hot sauce, optional

Place the potatoes, carrots, and onion in a medium pot with 3 cups of water. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat and let cook until tender, about 10-15 minutes.

Carefully drain the pot, saving 1 cup of the broth. Add the reserved broth and veggies to a high-speed blender, blending until smooth.

Add the rest of the ingredients to the blender and blend until smooth. Serve and enjoy!

This will keep for about a week in the refrigerator in a tight seal container!

Take a calm moment to touch base with your body before deciding on what food to send in👄. Does it need some greens? Does it need more protein? Does it need something sweet and cold? Does it want a slice of pizza? All that your body wants is valid. Listen to your hunger and craving cues. That way you can fully be present and enjoy ALL the food you eat. It’s intuitive, it’s mindful and it does a great deal for your digestive system.

There are two basic kinds of cholesterol – low-density lipoprotein (LDL or “lousy”), and high-density lipoprotein (HDL or “healthy”).

❤️LDL cholesterol can collect in your arterial walls, raising your risk for heart disease and stroke.

❤️HDL cholesterol absorbs cholesterol in your body and brings it back to your liver, which flushes it out of your body. It can help lower your risk of heart disease & stroke.

Some numbers to know: For most healthy adults, total cholesterol (LDL + HDL) should be less than 200 mg/dL, your LDL less than 100 mg/dL, and your HDL greater than 40 mg/dL (above 60 mg/dL for even more benefit).

Egg Roll in a bowl. A dish to ring in the Lunar New Year 🧧

🥢🍲I’ve streamlined this egg roll inspired recipe to make it a fast and easy meal to add to your rotation.

😋It’s perfect for a quick weeknight meal OR as a meal prep lunch!

😋TIP: If you are super busy, you can pick up some precooked frozen rice (brown or cauliflower) or quinoa at the grocery store – or cook up a batch during the weekend to keep on-hand in the fridge for a quick meal.

Super Simple Egg Roll in a Bowl
(serves 4)

16 oz (455 g)tofu (drained & cut into cubes)
3 Tbsp coconut aminos, divided
1 Tbsp avocado oil
2 12 oz (340 g) bags broccoli slaw
2 cloves garlic
1 Tbsp fresh ginger
1 Tbsp rice vinegar
2 tsp hot sauce
2 tsp sesame oil
To serve: 2 cups (350 g) cooked rice or quinoa

Place the tofu in a mixing bowl and add 1 Tbsp of coconut aminos, stir to break it up and combine. Let sit for 10 minutes.

Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the oil. Add the tofu and cook, further breaking apart up the block of tofu into small bits, for about 5 minutes, until it is fully cooked.

Reduce the heat to medium-low. Add the broccoli slaw, garlic, and ginger and stir fry for 2-5 minutes, until the vegetables reach your desired level of softness.

Add the rice vinegar, hot sauce and sesame oil, black pepper, and remaining 2 Tbsp of coconut aminos, stirring to combine. Continue to cook for 1-2 more minutes. Taste and adjust seasonings.

Serve hot over ½ cup (88 g) of rice or quinoa. Enjoy 😋

❓What’s the best way to stay on track with my fitness plan/healthy lifestyle?

I have a multi-part answer to this question, to help you set yourself up for SUCCESS!

Let’s dive right in:

🧩Make sure the changes you’re making have REAL meaning to you – and that you’re excited to feel the payoffs of those changes!
🧩Have an action plan that works with your lifestyle – so you know what to do and when to do it. (A coach can be a tremendous asset.)
🧩Don’t do too much, too soon.
🧩Have realistic expectations (i.e., losing 4 sizes in 4 weeks = not realistic).
🧩Set performance goals (vs. using the scale or other metric outside your direct control): i.e., X number of workouts a week, X servings of vegetables, X minutes of meditation.
🧩Get support. Having a cheerleader/drill sergeant/master planner/hand-holder/troubleshooter will help you find the fastest, most rewarding path to your goals. (Again: A coach is a huge resource here.)
