One of the best parts of racing is meeting our youngest fans!

Friday night, Thomas got to spend some time with a few of our Mini Maniacs, signing shirts, a model car, and handing out bracelets and stickers. Seeing the excitement these kids have for racing is something special.

Well, last night wasn’t the race we wanted.

After a big wreck last week, a rebuild, and a whole new setup, we knew we were going to have some tweaks to make.

We went out for hot laps to get a feel for the new setup, and right away she was tight. We came in, made a few adjustments before the heat, and hoped for the best.

During the heat, the car was still tight, had no bite, and just felt like it was tied to a lead weight. Between the setup and the rough track conditions, it just wasn’t worth pushing it, so we pulled off.

We made a few more adjustments before the feature, and for the first couple laps, she felt awesome and took right off. Then, once again, she completely bogged down. No bite, tighter than hell, and just not driving like the car we know.

We’re thankful we got to finish the feature this week, but it’s tough knowing we had this car perfect before the wreck.

So now it’s back to the drawing board. Time to go back through everything we did last week, figure out what’s different, and get this 51 back where she belongs.
