Cases like this are exactly why I created Saddled in Secrets Podcast on YouTube, my upcoming YouTube podcast where horses, behavioral analysis, forensic science, and hidden truths inside the equestrian world collide. And fittingly, the new Saddled in Secrets studio is literally being built right now at Crossroads Ranch! Behind the ribbons and fancy arena lights, there are secrets people in the horse world do not want uncovered. Join our facebook group Saddled in Secrets Podcast!

Three horses were stabbed during a major barrel racing event in Las Vegas and honestly, one of the biggest questions from a behavioral standpoint is "Why those horses?" In forensic investigations, victim selection often reveals motive. Were these horses random targets or were they connected by competition results, personal conflict, jealousy, retaliation, or fixation?
This case also exposes something many people outside the horse world do not understand. Horse show culture operates heavily on trust. Competitors move through each other’s barns, help care for horses, share space, and often have unusually close access to each other’s animals.
Thankfully these horses survived. But this case is disturbing for the entire equestrian community and the behavioral story behind it may ultimately become just as important as the physical evidence itself.
