Here is a great article about how a World Series Champion challenged his new teammates to up their level of focus and intensity in Spring Training Drills and practice, noting, “You can’t just turn it off and turn it on when you want to! You have to treat every rep like its game 7 of the World Series.” His teammates had played in the NLCS the last 4 years in a row, and won the NLCS 2 out of the last 4 years, but lost in the World Series each time.

Mookie Betts, the 2018 AL MVP with the Red Sox, called on his new Dodgers teammates to treat pring training like it's the World Series.
