Barbie 2.0 has been acquired and paid for! Now just to find time to get it built!

Back to back races! Only had 11 cars show up, but we still had plenty of action.

Definitely have to work on the 45 car and tighten it up alittle bit to make for a better long run car.

Chevy won our heat race and I finished 3rd.

Main event started and right at the drop of green we got stacked up and I got hit from behind and hit the car I front of me causing my bumper to bend and come in to contact with my right front tire.
I couldn't turn left so I was having to use the throttle to make it turn.
I could see smoke coming off, and have no idea how the tire lasted all 30 laps.
43 ended up coming home 3rd and 45 came home 5th.

Thankful to have a couple much needed weeks off for some maintenance and rebuilding of the cars!

Another late race post.

Figure 8 nationals.

It was beautiful weather for racing!
Chevy qualified p2 and me p3. Both cars felt good.
Heat races where a crap shoot, neither of us finished well.

We draw for position out of a bucket for nationals and run 50 laps instead of our normal 30.

Chevy drew 18th out of 20, and i drew 12th

Alot of cars for nationals, and that means new and old drivers come out of the wood works, that also means lots of chaos.
Even while trying to miss or stop for accidents, chevy would get shoved into them, he ended up being a pin ball and was also heavily used as someone's brakes. While we thought he ended up 6th, scoring has him as 8th.
I moved up through the pack and just tried to stay out of trouble and ended up 3rd behind John in the 36 and Mackenzie in the 67.

Lots of work on the 45 before we race again this weekend June 20th.

First off thank you to Rick Yargus for all the effort and time he put in to making this weekend happen! Not just this weekend, but over the last few months building a new car for my daughter!

2 days of racing this weekend.
Lots of photos and many memories made!

Saturday Crimson, Chevy, and i where supposed to race. Unfortunately new car blues and wiring issues kept crimson from her debut.

Start this off with that will be the last time trying to run multiple classes and cars on the same race day

I got to drive the #11 and man what a rocket! Started last on Saturday and finished 1st.
Chevy drove barbie and was doing great until it lost the 12 volts to the distributor and quit running.
17x hauled ass and finished 2nd, then went on to win the boat race.
I tried the 23 machine but made 1 lap and broke a lower ball joint.

Sunday Crimson, Becky and Chevy raced the bump to pass.
We thought we had Crim fixed, but believe we have some old switch issues. So before her next race, ill get everything ordered to replace all switches and wiring.
Becky finished 8th, and Chevy finished 2nd!

Also Chevy finally killed Barbie.. sad day, but now we can put her out to pasture and see what happens next.
Maybe a Barbie 2.0?

Chevy and I raced our super stock figure 8 cars, and he ended up 2nd, and i ended up somewhere in the back after exiting the track with a flat tire and going laps down.

April drove our bus, but it had throttle/running issues. So sorry to everyone that came to watch, but we will either figure out the issue, or find her a different bus to race later in the season.

A few days late on a race day post, but we had mother's day. The wife wanted to work on the flower beds so thats what we did!

Our 3rd race of the season was May 9th.

Made a few changes to chevys car and seemed like he took a liking to it. Him and I put some good laps down it first practice.
I didn't run 2nd practice and chatted with him on the radio to make sure he was smooth and consistent with his lines.
Qualifying is a new layout, but chevy qualified 2nd with a 18.18 and I ran an 18.42

45 won his heat race after a good battle with the 35 car.

With a 4 car inverter drawn, it put the 67 and I on the front row, with chevy and the 36 behind us as well as the rest of the 13 car field.
Green flag came out and we where off. I got a good launch and the 67 got alittle sideways which gave me an opportunity to take over the top spot. We ran pretty much nose to tail the whole race. Im a horrible leader, and was just focused on hitting my marks and not leaving a door open.
With a few laps to go, lap traffic started to play a roll and coming to the white I got crossed up alittle, which gave the 36 a run on my outside. Well I panicked and over drove going into turn 1 and we made heavy contact. (Luckily it didn't take either of us out). We raced into the last turn and he gave me some much deserved love because i over drove, and i believe the margin of victory was .195 of a second.
Now here's where I was both mad and happy at the same time.
Mad I made a bone head move and over drove into the 36 car, but happy I won my first main event in a figure 8 car.
I spun coming across the line and for safety, and respect to other drivers I should have locked it down and stopped, instead of staying on the gas and doing a burnout.
I apologize and will do better next time!

14 years ago I said I wanted to drive a figure 8 car.... well 14 years later it happened!

First off. Thanks to my wife Becky for supporting me and the crazy decisions i sometimes make.

Great weekend of racing all around. Beautiful weather, got all the cars back together and got an opportunity to race an outlaw figure 8!

Bringing 3 cars to the track was a feat of its own, but thanks to Rick Yargus we got it done!
Rick picked the car up, worked on it, mounted tires and delivered/picked car up from the race track.
Thank you isn't enough, I truly appreciate all the time and effort you put in!

First time this season in our cars, and we were both happy with how they felt.

Chevy won his heat race and I finished 3rd

Main event alot of fast cars and some good intersection action. 43 finished 4th and 45 5th.
Both loading without issues and ready for some maintenance.

The outlaw is a completely different animal, more horsepower, better suspension, and more tire!
But man what a blast that was.

Heat race was a train, nose to tail for 8 laps. Although I finished last, I kept up with the pack

Main event I started last and was just trying to learn the car and a line. A few cars broke and dropped out, and at 1 point I was sitting in 3rd on a restart. The outlaws play alot of bumper tag on restarts, go on was trying to time the bumper tag with my throttle up, and well I went from hero to zero really quick. I throttled up to get a jump after the tag and ran out of talent in front of the whole field.
Unfortunately I ended up hooking bumpers with another outlaw at some point and was trying to get loose and ended up messing up his night.
Started getting comfortable towards the end and was reeling in 4th place and the door was opened in the last turn, took the opportunity to try and make a pass, made slight contact but decided it was safer to spin, rather than tear up either car but brought it home 5th in my first outlaw race.
