Protein doesn't have to be complicated!

Getting enough protein is one of the simplest ways to support muscle growth, recovery, and long-term health.

The trick? Spread it throughout your day instead of trying to cram it all into one meal.

Here's a quick cheat sheet to help you get roughly 30g of protein from everyday foods. Portions will vary, but it's a great starting point!

Train hard. Eat well. Recover better.

One of the coolest compliments we can receive is when someone visiting from out of town chooses to come back for another workout!

We love welcoming drop-ins to CrossFit MNC and making them feel like part of our community, even if it's just for a day or two.

Thanks for spending some of your time with us, Dan, and for the kind words! We hope to see you again next time you're in town!

DIFFERENT AGES. DIFFERENT STARTING POINTS. SAME OPPORTUNITY TO CHANGE YOUR LIFE.

One of the biggest misconceptions about CrossFit is that you need to be young, fit, or athletic just to get started.

The truth? You don't have to be any of those to start CrossFit.

You do CrossFit to become that version of yourself.

And the benefits go far beyond what you see in the mirror.

✅ More strength to handle everyday life.
✅ Better endurance and energy.
✅ Improved confidence in what your body can do.
✅ Friendships, accountability, and a community that genuinely cares.

Whether you're 25 and looking to build a healthier lifestyle, 45 and ready to prioritize yourself again, or 65 and wanting to stay strong and independent for years to come, there's a place for you.

At CrossFit MNC, we meet you where you are, modify workouts to fit your abilities, and help you build toward where you want to be.

You don't have to change before you walk through our doors.

That's what we're here to help you do.

STRONG SQUATS START FROM THE GROUND UP!

When we think about squatting, we tend to focus on our knees, hips, and back. But what about our feet?

Your feet are your foundation, and how you distribute your weight can make a big difference in both stability and power.

Think about maintaining three points of contact with the floor: your heel, the base of your big toe, and the base of your little toe.

This creates a stable "tripod" that allows you to stay balanced and drive efficiently through the entire movement.

Tomorrow's squat focus: Keep your whole foot connected to the floor, maintain even pressure, and drive through the ground as you stand.

Sometimes the smallest adjustments make the biggest difference!

IRON SHARPENS IRON.

Sure, CrossFit might be cheaper than therapy (debatable 😂), but there's something about showing up, working hard, and sharing a few laughs with good people that just makes life better.

At CrossFit MNC, we believe fitness is about more than getting stronger or improving your conditioning.

It's about surrounding yourself with people who challenge you, encourage you, hold you accountable, and make the hard days a little easier.

Some days you show up ready to crush it. Other days, you need a little push just to get started.

That's where community makes all the difference.

We don't just build stronger athletes. We help build stronger people.

And we do it together.

10+ years. Countless workouts. One incredible community. 💙

There's something special about having members who have been part of your gym for a decade.

We've had the privilege of watching Dharna grow stronger, challenge herself, get married, have a child, and continue showing up year after year.

But what means the most to us is knowing that, after all this time, she still feels supported, encouraged, and part of something bigger.

That's exactly the kind of community we've always wanted to build.

Thank you, Dharna, for trusting us with your fitness journey and for being part of the CrossFit MNC family for 10+ years! 👊

Progress isn't always a straight line.

Some days you feel strong, motivated, and like everything is clicking.

Other days? Life gets busy. Stress piles up. Motivation disappears. And suddenly, it feels like you're taking two steps backward.

But here's the deal...

A setback doesn't have to become a stopping point.

In the gym, we learn to control the descent. Stay engaged, maintain control, and put ourselves in a position to stand back up.

Life isn't all that different.

You'll miss workouts. You'll have tough weeks. You'll make choices that don't always move you foward.

What matters most isn't the setback. It's how you respond to it.

At CrossFit MNC, we believe strength is about more than what you can lift. It's about building the discipline, confidence, and resilience to keep showing up when things aren't easy.

Control the descent. Keep getting back up.

Box Jump Overs: It's Not Just About Getting to the Other Side!

Tomorrow's workout includes box jump overs, and while they may seem pretty straightforward, there's more to this movement than simply jumping onto a box.

Like most movements we perform at CrossFit MNC, a little attention to technique can make a big difference in both efficiency and consistency.

A few things to think about tomorrow:
🔹 Find your starting position. Stand at a comfortable distance from the box. Too close can make the jump awkward, while too far away can have you jumping forward more than necessary.
🔹 Use your hips! Load up with a slight hinge, drive through your legs, and use your arms to help generate momentum.
🔹 Land with control. Aim for a stable landing with your knees slightly bent, allowing your legs to absorb the impact.
🔹 Be efficient with your transitions. Whether you're stepping down or moving over the box, find a rhythm you can maintain without wasting unnecessary energy.

And remember…slow is smooth, smooth is fast.

A few rushed reps might save you a couple of seconds early, but poor positioning and inefficient movement can cost you much more as fatigue sets in.

Whether you're jumping over a 24-inch box, a 20-inch box, or stepping over a lower one, the goal remains the same:

Move well. Move efficiently. And choose a pace you can sustain.

Toes-to-Bar: It's Not Just About Your Abs!

When most people think about toes-to-bar, they picture hanging from a pull-up bar and lifting their feet as high as possible.

And while core strength certainly plays a big role, there's another muscle group doing some important work that often gets overlooked.

Your LATS!

Tomorrow's workout includes toes-to-bar, so here's something to think about before you jump up on that bar.

Rather than simply hanging and trying to throw your legs toward the bar, think about actively pulling DOWN on the bar as you bring your feet UP.

That downward pull engages your lats, helps control your upper body, and creates the shoulder position needed to elevate your hips and bring your feet closer to the bar.

A few things to focus on:
🔹 Start with active shoulders. Establish tension through your upper body rather than hanging passively.
🔹 Pull down on the bar. As your legs rise, use your lats to help bring the bar toward your body.
🔹 Stay connected. Coordinate that upper-body pull with your core and hip flexors instead of relying on momentum alone.

And remember, whether you're working on your first hanging knee raise or stringing together sets of toes-to-bar, these same principles apply.

The goal isn't just to get your feet to the bar. It's to develop the strength, coordination, and control to do it consistently.

Tomorrow, don't just think about lifting your legs.

Think about pulling the bar DOWN to bring your feet UP!
