🎭 DRESS-UP WEEK IS COMING! 💜
📅 October 26–30

Let’s give those favorite dance costumes another moment to shine! ✨ We’d love for everyone to wear a dance costume from a previous season to class during dress-up week.

New to BFDC or don’t have an old costume? You can join the fun, too! We’ll have extra costumes available in the locker room for dancers to borrow and wear during class. 💜

We can’t wait to see your favorites and make some new memories together!

Hello BFDC Families!

We’re excited to announce that The Magic of Christmas is going on the road! 🎄✨

Our Monroe dancers will bring our Christmas show to the City of Chester Aquatics & Fitness Center in Chester, SC, on Sunday, December 13, 2026!

Chester is approximately one hour from our Monroe studio, and we’re thrilled to share the joy and message of this special production with another community.

What This Means for Monroe Families

All Monroe Christmas Recital dancers are included in the Chester performance. They will perform the same routines they’re already preparing for our Monroe show.

💜 No additional participation fee for dancers
💜 No admission tickets required for parents or family members
💜 No additional costume purchase
💜 No separate Chester choreography

It’s another opportunity for our dancers to enjoy the stage and celebrate the season together!

Unable to Attend? Please Let Us Know by November 1

No RSVP is needed if your dancer will participate. We are planning for all Monroe Christmas Recital dancers to attend.

If your dancer cannot participate on Sunday, December 13, please complete the absence form by November 1, 2026:

👉 Complete the Chester Performance Absence Form - https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfKSv4Ly9eJUdknBf3btpUB0ioXLCWk3R-M36PwY01yU49stQ/viewform

This will give us time to review each routine and make any necessary adjustments. If we do not receive an absence form, we will count your dancer as participating.

Performance time, dancer arrival and check-in, dressing areas, what to bring, and other day-of details will be shared by email and in the recital portal alongside the Monroe show information.

We can’t wait to take Be Famous Dance Center and The Magic of Christmas to Chester! Thank you for helping us make this additional performance a special experience for our dancers. 🎄💜

Blessings,

May love guide the way we speak, practice, perform, and care for one another. Every class is an opportunity to use our gifts with a loving heart. ✝️

A performance includes more than the choreography!

Dancers also practice how to enter the stage, find their starting position, hold that final pose, and make their exit.

Those little moments help the whole routine feel prepared—from walking into the spotlight to heading back into the wings. ✨

Next time your dancer shows you their routine, ask them to include their entrance and ending, too. You’re their practice audience! 😊

🎨 IF YOUR DANCER DESIGNED A RECITAL COSTUME… ✨

What would it look like?

Bright colors? Lots of sparkle? A jacket, a tutu, or something nobody has thought of yet? 😊

This Friday, let your dancer be the designer! Ask them to draw their dream dance costume—and choose a song to go with it.

💬 Share their drawing in the comments! We’d love to see their creative ideas. 💜

🧥 LAST DAY TO DONATE! 💜

Today, October 15, is the final day of our coat collection for American Legion Post #458 in Indian Trail.

A coat you no longer wear could help keep a veteran or family member warm this season. If you’ve been meaning to donate, please bring your coats or gloves and place them in the black tote in the BFDC lobby today.

Thank you to every family who has contributed. Each donation is a thoughtful way to care for someone in our community. 💜

🧁 HAPPY NATIONAL DESSERT DAY! 🍪

Today’s toughest choice: cake, cookies, brownies, or ice cream? 😋

BFDC families, we want to know—what dessert gets your dancer’s vote?

Drop their favorite sweet treat in the comments! Bonus points if you share a picture of something your family loves to bake together. 💜

One side feels easy. The other makes you stop and think! 😊

That’s why dancers practice movements on both the right and left. Switching sides challenges them to pay attention to which foot leads, where their arms go, and how the movement fits together.

The side that feels less familiar deserves practice, too!

Ask your dancer: “Which side do you like best—and which side makes you concentrate?”

A little preparation makes getting ready for class easier!

Before heading to the studio, check for:

🩰 Shoes for each of your classes
💧 A filled water bottle
🎀 Extra hair ties and bobby pins

And one small favor that helps us reunite lost items with their dancers: put your dancer’s name inside their shoes and on their belongings! 😊

Save this reminder for your next dance day!
