Today is a beautiful reminder that even the smallest acts of kindness can make a difference.

At Be Famous Dance Center, we want our dancers to grow in more than just technique. We want them to grow in kindness, compassion, generosity, and a heart for serving others.

Whether it’s donating to someone in need, encouraging a friend, helping a neighbor, volunteering, or simply choosing to be kind, every act of love matters.

This season, Be Famous Dance Center is honored to help collect coats and gloves for veterans and their families through American Legion Indian Trail Post #458.

So many have given so much in service to our country, and this is one simple way our BFDC family can come together to show love and appreciation.

If you have a new or gently used coat or pair of gloves you would like to donate, we have a black tote in the studio lobby ready to collect them.

The countdown is officially on! Registration for the Be Famous Dance Center recital closes on September 15.

Participating in recital gives dancers the opportunity to:

✨ Share their God-given gifts with others

Recital is more than one performance—it’s the exciting celebration our dancers work toward throughout the season! 💜

Is your child interested in dance but unsure which class is the right fit? Come experience Be Famous Dance Center with a completely FREE trial class—always free and with no obligation to enroll! 💜

Simply tell us your dancer’s age, choose the style they would like to try, and select a day and time that works for your family.

For your first visit:

💜 Bring ballet, tap, or jazz shoes if you already own them

Hello BFDC Families,

We have some exciting news! Be Famous Dance Center is upgrading to a brand-new system designed to make managing your dancer’s account simpler, faster, and more convenient.

?? Say Hello to HotGlue!
We are officially transitioning to HotGlue — one app that will now handle almost everything you need at BFDC!

HotGlue will replace:

Jackrabbit — Customer Portal, enrollment & billing

BAND — Studio communication, announcements & updates

The Dance Shop / Shopify — Dancewear, shoes & studio purchases

Instead of jumping between multiple websites and apps, everything will now be together in ONE place!

What Do You Need to Do?
Very little — we are handling the transition for you.

Later today, you will receive an email inviting you to set up your new HotGlue account.

When it arrives:

Follow the prompts to log in and activate your account.

Set up your AutoDraft payment method in HotGlue.

That's it! We'll handle the rest.

You do not need to re-enroll your dancers or select their classes again. Our team will make sure your current enrollments and account information are transferred into the new system.

One App. Everything BFDC. ????
Once the transition is complete, HotGlue will become your go-to place for:

💜 WHY DO DANCERS PRACTICE SLOWLY? 💜

Sometimes the best way to improve a fast dance step is to slow it all the way down.

Practicing slowly gives dancers time to:

✨ Understand each part of the movement
✨ Correct their placement and technique
✨ Build strong muscle memory
✨ Notice details they might otherwise miss
✨ Develop the control needed to dance safely

Once the movement feels strong and correct, dancers can gradually add speed without losing their technique.

Slow practice may not look exciting—but it creates confident, clean, and powerful dancing! 💜

Crystal Wilson
Ballet Program Director / Competition Choreographer

Certified Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT) Instructor
Crystal has been dancing for 25 years, and teaching for 16 years. She studied ballet and pointe extensively, training in the Royal Academy and Cecchetti methods and examinations, receiving high honors. Crystal performed many roles in the Union County Youth Ballet's Nutcracker Ballet, including Snow Queen, Arabian, and Dew Drop. With UCYB, she also performed the roles of the Lilac Fairy in The Sleeping Beauty, Aunt Em in The Wizard of Oz, and The Summer Fairy in Cinderella. Crystal has also studied jazz, tap, contemporary, and modern, and participated in many workshops and master classes with the likes of Alex Little, Doug Caldwell, David Wilcox, Suzy Miller, Mark Meismer, Mariclair Miranda of Columbia City Ballet, and Sandra Burnham of the Royal Academy of Dance.

Crystal's students and choreography have been recognized at many regional dance competitions for “Best Choreography” and performance and entertainment awards.

Crystal feels incredibly blessed to be able to teach and share her passion for dance, and hopes to inspire all of her students to be their best.

💜 CORRECTIONS ARE COMPLIMENTS 💜

When a dance teacher gives a correction, it doesn’t mean a dancer is doing badly.

It means the teacher is paying attention.

It means they see the dancer’s potential.

It means they believe the dancer is ready to grow.

Corrections help dancers strengthen their technique, develop safer habits, and become more confident performers. Learning to receive feedback with a positive attitude is a skill that reaches far beyond the dance studio.

So when your dancer receives a correction, remind them:

✨ Listen carefully
✨ Ask questions
✨ Try it again
✨ Be proud of the progress

A correction isn’t criticism—it’s an invitation to improve. 💜
