After a long winter and what always feels like a short fall season, I am looking forward to spring and my first guide trips of the year. Currently I have 6 fly boxes in front of me, all about 1/2 full with much work to do. Tying everything from tarpon to smallmouth flies before the season really gets into gear.

It’s been a while since I’ve made a post. I’ve been incredibly busy with guide trips every weekend, and also completed an Internship in data analytics in NYC. The day after i finished, I left for Montana and fished for a week with wonderful friends. I have a fair amount of dates booked this fall and im excited for a great trout season on the Housy.

All done for trout on the Housatonic until September. It was a great spring with high water but many fish to be had.

Guide season is in full swing, my weekends are booked and fish are being caught. Last weekend, we had a group of 24 anglers from Trinity retreat center, all of our 8 guides did a fantastic job and everyone left with a smile. Harold even took me and the boys out for ice cream afterwards. I’m looking forward to my next month or so once this high water subsides.

I’ll be working full time at another job starting in June, but will guide on Saturdays and Sundays.

My friends and I had a great opening weekend, we caught a good amount of quality fish and the other anglers we spoke to also did well. My guide book is starting to fill up for later this month and May which I’m looking forward to.

I’m starting an internship in June, so guiding will take a backseat but I’ll be available on weekends. Excited to take a step into a new career field. Fish on

What a great day on the river, got away from the crowds and landed a fair amount of fish. This rainbow took me for a ride, and I was stoked to get the larger brown on a dry fly in some flat water below the highway. I also got a visit from a great blue heron, a snake, and a big beaver. Pretty cool

I had my first guide trip of the year yesterday. My client wanted to fish for native brook trout and that’s exactly what we got, a handful of beautiful brookies on a cold March day on a tributary stream. I almost forgot how beautiful of an office I have!

It’s finally that time when our streams start to thaw. I caught a few wild brook trout this morning in a very seldom fished stream. Last week I was in Puerto Rico with a few friends, we caught a lot of smaller barracuda and snappers. I hooked about 15 tarpon on my fly rod, some over 50 pounds but they were incredibly difficult to land from shore. Katrina ended up catching a smaller one on spinning gear which was very exciting. I have a few trips already booked and I’m very eager to start the season after a long, cold winter.

I’ve been tying flies and going through gear lately to get myself through the winter blues. I’ve been out on the ice once and got my first ever ice fish which was cool but I miss the rivers. Most streams are completely frozen solid. Here’s some pics, mostly from Montana, to get our hopes up for the year of fishing ahead.

As I look back on my photos from the past few years, I realize how lucky I’ve been to have such a fun life. This year, I’ve graduated college, lived in Montana for 4 months, and came back home to my busiest fall guiding season ever on the Housy. I am so incredibly thankful for the opportunities I had and hope everyone has a wonderful 2025 filled with many fish. 2024 felt like 3 years of experience in one. Below are some of my favorite pics
