Unfortunately, our luck didnt get any better. We were still chasing mechanical issues most of the day, but got it all sorted out in time for the main event.
Then things got much worse... just 4 laps in there was really bad wreck coming out of turn 2, Audriana was right behind it and with nowhere to go she plowed right into a wad of 3 tangled cars. Red flag incidents are always scary, but it hits different when its your kid.
3 young drivers were injured and needed medical attention... all in all everyone is banged up but ok. Audriana got some gnarly whiplash and mild concussion, but is doing ok and in good spirits. The car is toast... front clip smoked, punched a whole in the motor block the size of a grapefruit, pushing the motor back even punching through the firewall.
A big thank you to Tucson Speedway emergency crew for getting to tue drivers quickly and taking good care of them. They definitely had their hands full.
A huge shout out to Clint and Kyle, and the Bliven family for all their help and support this week. A ton of work has gone into keeping these cars going. With that said, Audriana and our #9 car are retired for the weekend. Time for rest and rebuilding.
