📣 Update on Oregon’s Waterway Access Permits
A new Oregon boating law expanding Waterway Access Permit requirements has sparked significant public backlash.

As KATU reports, the law now requires permits for all non-motorized watercraft and increases costs for paddlers across the state.

Willamette Kayak Adventures believes in protecting our waterways without creating unnecessary financial barriers to access. In that spirit, we’re extending an olive branch to Let Us Paddle by supporting their effort to collect signatures and give Oregonians a voice on this issue.

Just a friendly reminder to all you paddle sports enthusiasts: the new Oregon Waterway Access Permits go into effect in just a couple of days.

On July 15, the Marine Board changed course and issued a clarification saying: “The interpretation for enforcement purposes for safety equipment and waterway access permit requirements does not include single inner tubes or single inner tubes tied together.”
