We got into topdressing and over seeding season early this year. Last Tuesday we went to Oak Hill High School and worked on the football field.

Last week we spent a couple days in Carmel at the rec fields doing cleanups and installing 2 new pitching mounds.

Welcome to the 2020 turf care season!

After a mild winter, there was relatively light snow and ice pack on the athletic fields at Bowdoin College. On the 11th, we put organic fertilizer out on what was left of the ice. The organics are a dark color and really grab the sun and encourage melting.

We're looking forward to the return of our more conventional work, with this weather it shouldn't be long.

Last Tuesday's snow effectively ended our 2019 season in the field. One of our final projects was a softball infield installation for the Wilton Rec. Department at Kineowatha Park.

The previously existing field had a small skinned section around the plate, and worn turf and mud around the bases and pitching rubber.

In about 7 hours we skinned the infield, cleared the scrap, and backfilled with 80 yards of infield material. We finished up by truing the field with new anchors and bases installed.

We finished up our infield renovation season with a project at Kennebunk's West Kennebunk Field. The field had some lips on the edges of the infield. We stripped the diamond and a 4' perimeter power raked the field to remove lips and re-sodded to leave behind a like-new infield.

After a bit of a break from the dirt work for some late summer fertilizer and pesticide applications we started in on our fall infield clean up season last week. We spent Friday at Portland Little League's Riverton Trolley Park.

We cleaned the field up, added some material and put some Turface out on the plate, mound and base paths. A few hours of work and the field is ready for next spring.
