Last night was Zach’s first race of the year! It wasn’t a go-kart race as he decided to sell that last year and move in a different direction , more to come on that when details are finalized! 😂

Last night was Stronghursts figure 8! Zach was in the lead for his heat when he was hit and his bumper came off, which reset his inertia switch for fuel so the car wouldn’t restart. Reset the switch in the pits and it fired back up. That put him in the constellation race which he won . So he started last in the feature and made it up to 3rd! Pretty great night!

It’s going to be a fun relaxing summer and this Mama is happy to see the season start! One of us will do our best to always keep the page up dated where ever he is racing! Thank you to those that are always supporting him!

Well Nationals were definitely not what we expected or hoped for!

Friday and Saturday were at ViolaBoyz Backroad Speedway for the Backroad Rumble.

Friday :
Qualified 7th out of 45

Heat race : I started feeling crappy and the kart was super tight so unfortunately I started 3rd and ended 6th. Not good!

That put me into the B main and the top four would transfer to the A. I started 9th and moved up to 7th but it just wasn’t enough to move on. I had a pretty good run for the weekend!

Monday and Tuesday we traveled to English Creek Speedway in Knoxville, IA.

During qualifying the side of my wing blew apart and I only got 1 1/2 laps completed which put me 49th out of 52 karts! TERRIBLE!

In the heat, I started 9th and made it to 6th. Unfortunately, ECS determines their A features mainly on qualifying times and points and not as much on passing points so I went to the b main.

In the 2nd b- main I started 16th and they were only taking the top 3. I knew it would be alot but I was going to give it all that I had! About lap 3 or 4 two karts spun and got together at the top of the track. I tried to go low and go between two karts when my back tire caught a kart and sent me airborne! I flipped 4 times finally landing on my side. I am extremely sore but essentially very lucky to be ok! My kart is another story but all of that can be taken care of!

It’s was a 4th place weekend. Raced the Lincoln in the figure 8 at Roseville on Saturday.

Got 2nd in my heat
Started 4th and finished 4th in my feature on my top! I’m ok!

Definitely not the night I hoped for!
Qualified 4 out of 7
Heat started 4th ended 4th

Draw redraw and I pulled a 1!
Started on the pole and lead 6 beautiful laps then I spun on lap 7 after going in too low and clipping the tire. Restarted at the back and was trying to pass for 3rd and got a little too jumpy and spun again. Not the night I hoped for but that’s racing!

Congrats to Tyler Garrison on the win tonight!

Last night was one to remember! I ran my first non-wing event at ViolaBoyz Backroad Speedway! It was a different layout than usual . We had two heats, the first lineup was determined by our pill draw, the second was inverted from the first. Then based on passing points the top 6 went to a dash then everyone went to the feature.

There were 12 karts in my class tonight.

Heat 1- started 3rd ended 4th
Heat 2 - started 4th ended 4th

This did not qualify me for the dash as I was starting the feature in 8th.

It was a 20 lap feature. I started 8th and finished 2nd! It was a blast!

What a weekend it has been!

Friday night in the go-kart at ViolaBoyz Backroad Speedway.

Went out for hot laps kart felt great and then suddenly kart died and there was no power. Brought it back to the pits and Dad and friends did some diagnosing, they found the issue but not in time for qualifying! Luckily the back up was there and I was able to use it.

Qualified 2 out of 5
Heat race started 2nd finished 2nd
Feature drew 3rd starting position and finished 2nd.
Ended up being a pretty decent night!

Saturday Night we were back at Viola but this time for the Figure 8 races.
I raced two classes Rookie and RWD Bonestock.

Rookie Class was only 1 race. I started last and moved up 3 spots before the transmission locked up and the car wouldn’t move. It was fun while it lasted and that car has been a good one! To the junkyard it goes!

RWD Bonestock- heat 2 I started 2nd and finished second which put me starting 4th in the Feature.

Feature- started 4th and finished 2nd! It was a P2 weekend!

Weekend recap:

Friday at ViolaBoyz Backroad Speedway

Qualified 8th out of 10- not a good start.

Heat 2 - started 4th - finished 3rd

Feature- started 6th- started to spin another car hit me and he flipped . I was sent to the back for the caution. Had worked back up to I think 5th and was spun from the rear by another car so two spins and I was done for the night.

Wasn’t a great night but you’ll have those. Got some kinks worked out on the Kart so that was a plus.

Saturday night we went to Sebastian Speedway 'Karting' just to watch and I decided I wanted to race and my Kart was already there!

Qualified - 3rd out of 5

Heat - started 3rd - finished 3rd

Feature - started 3rd - finished 2nd

It was a much better ending to the night! 🤣. Track was great and we had a lot of fun!

Thanks to my Dad for all his work on the kart. I wouldn’t be able to do this without him!
