EDIT TO PAYMENTS:
Okay Everyone. Its time for the long post. PLEASE share and pass this post along to anyone that you know is a golfer. Please bare with me as this will a lot to write. With saying that, if you have any questions after this post. Please contact the page or better yet. Just call the boss lady in charge (Mary). I will leave a link at the end of this post for STATE rules of golf. These should be followed as read.
We will officially open tomorrow (despite the rain). To play golf, you MUST have a tee time called in or arranged from your car. Payment will be taken with our curbside hours. We will be able to take cards, cash and check from our curbside location. I will get our curbside hours on the page on saturday. THERE WILL BE NO ONLINE TEE TIME OR PAYMENTS AS OF YET. This is important, so please do not get scammed. I believe the Pro-Shop employees will be taking tee times in 12-15 minute slots. Carts will be allowed for 1 person only in a cart. Even if you are a paid member. Please call in a tee time and BE ON TIME. Ladies and Men's League should be a thing hopefully starting NO earlier than June 1st. I will be keep up to date on this Info. There are also no scrambles until further notice. We will worry about our June - August tourneys when the time comes. No need to worry and speculate those as of now.
With winter being done, we all want to catch up and socialize on the course. Its my favorite thing to do. However, please keep your distance from each other and wave to others with a smile. Hopefully in a month or two, we will able to greet each other again.
Regarding Sunday Morning Groups
Sunday mornings should have tee times schedules for the designated groups. I believe Sunday morning fun can still happen if we follow these simple rules.
1. Get creative with finding teams.(AKA have your sheet of everyone and pick on that sheet while in their cars or over messenger)
2. Have random groupings, with a "captain" being in every group.
3. WAIT IN YOUR CAR.
4. I know everyone will be early to get picked but everyone still needs to practice social distancing.
I trust the Sunday Group Leaders to make smart and responsible choices that will prevent the course from getting into trouble.
NOW for the fun part.
Firstly,
MOST of us do not agree with these rules and its okay. HOWEVER, if we all just follow these rules and abide by what we should be doing Cobbossee Colony Golf Course and Bill Sylvester will be a happy man.
Secondly,
Please try not bring your problems on this matter to Bill or Mary. We are all stressed about the situation but blessed that we are able to open the course to the community. Please encourage all part of staff and give Bill an extra thank you for all the extra work that has gone into this spring. He is frustrated but always happy. Please encourage him as we all work through this together. Everyone following these rules will keep less stress on Bill and prevent trouble from coming to Maine golf courses.
Now for a quick course update.
Course is coming along fantastic. Due to the slow start of things. We have aerated "MOST" of the greens so please be aware that some greens have provisional as we start the season. Obviously we have more rain coming in tonight, however the course is quite dry compared to most years so getting carts out is not an issue as of yet.
Well I have rambled on enough. O wait one last thing. As you read these rules from the link below. There's one thing we are all nervous about. We are not allowed to put trashcans out on the course so PLEASE do your part in taking home the trash you brought in. We do want to see piles of cans on the course or in places where the trash cans used to be. Please be courteous and help with that issue. The clubhouse itself WILL BE closed until June 1st which means NO BATHROOM. We will have a place for emergencies however, per state rules, we can not open a public bathroom. If you have any worries on this, please call the clubhouse for more details.....
As of right now, Driving Range and Practice green is also closed until June 1st
Thank you all. We appreciate you all and we trust your judgement as you help us get through the next month. Limited golf is better than no golf at all.
Chad Waterhouse....... Bill says Hello, hope everyone is well.
