Families with young children—your voice matters! If you live, work, or use early learning or child care programs in Oregon, this is a great chance to share your experiences and help shape improvements to the Spark system. Your input can make a real difference for kids and families across our state.
What is Spark?
Spark is Oregon’s Quality Recognition and Improvement System (QRIS). It is a voluntary program designed to support child care providers by strengthening practices, building on what is working, and celebrating progress—so families can better connect with early learning programs that meet their needs.
What is the Spark Accountability Team?
The Spark Accountability Team is a collaborative group made up of families, early educators, administrators, staff from the Department of Early Learning and Care (DELC), and the Spark Team. The team meets to help guide and see through changes in the Spark system. This group has been meeting regularly since 2023 and plays an important role in shaping how Spark works for providers and families across Oregon.
As an Accountability Team member, you will:
☑️Represent family and community perspectives by sharing lived experiences
☑️Attend regular Zoom meetings to provide feedback and recommendations
☑️Collaborate with families, early educators, DELC, and the Spark Team
☑️Receive compensation for each meeting attended
