It didn’t start out as her safe place!

When my client first stepped into the weight room, it felt draining and intimidating. She was facing heavy adversity outside of the gym, and the weights felt like just another challenge. But then a shift happened.

The gym slowly transformed from a place of discomfort into her ultimate sanctuary. The weight training became exactly what she needed to heal, release, and rebuild. Watching her change, find her power, and grow into the person she is today has been one of the most inspiring moments of my time coaching !

Everyone meet Carolyn! (Again!)

AOC Fitness MAY MEMBER Of THE MONTH!

Carolyn trains with me 2x per week in person! She is a 3x member of the month ! Carolyn was also January 2024 and June 2022 MOM! Carolyn has been through a lot of struggles these past few months but she has not quit! She shows up and gives it her all every single session!

She always comes into the gym with an AOC mindset and pushes herself to always be better! She always comes into her sessions with that “grind it out” work ethic! She is determined to reach her goals and will do whatever it takes to accomplish them!

Carolyn had been a member of AOC GYM for almost 4 years now! She is 67 years young and is married with a daughter and her puppy “Blu”.

PSA: if you are obsessed with the scale and blind to all the other benefits of your fitness program, then you need to toss that thing in the garbage!

Do you really think hitting a certain number is going to make you happier? Make you look and feel how you want to? Make your problems disappear ?

I believe it actually does the opposite! Constantly obsessing over weight loss and the scale will cause you nothing but….

❌Frustration and stress
❌Increased Anxiety and Depression
❌Loss of self- esteem and distorted body image
❌Poor relationship with food
❌Viewing exercise as punishment, stressful and forced

All of my clients that focus on the other benefits of their fitness journey are more successful!

✔️Better sleep
✔️Less irritable and better mood
✔️Feel stronger
✔️Wearing your clothes with confidence
✔️Improved labs
✔️Energized

I’d say these benefits above are way more important than numbers on a battery operated plate that you stand on. Wouldn’t you?

If you’re in your 30s and feeling a little lost in the noise, I want you to take a second and look at this image. 🤍

Adversity has a way of making us feel like we’ve lost our anchor. When the “Mind Needs” on the right—like Increased Motivation and Emotional Balance—feel impossible to find, it’s usually because the foundation on the left is struggling.
Protein is crucial in this season because it is the quiet strength that keeps your system from breaking under the weight.

Think of the “Body Needs” as the floorboards of your life. Protein intake is key to support these needs! When you focus on Muscle Repair and a Stronger Immune System, you are literally giving your body the materials to stay standing. When you prioritize your Bone Health and Appetite Control, you’re creating the steady energy and structural support you need to handle the hard days without crashing.

And here is the amazing part: when your body finally feels fueled and supported, the “Mind Needs” have permission to come to the surface.

Nourishing yourself with protein is also how you can clear the fog for Sharper Focus. It’s how you find the Stress Resilience to breathe through the setbacks and the Emotional Balance to face the next chapter.

Hey there! I’m Kaitlyn Ray Spencer, but you can call me K-Ray! 👋🏼

Real talk: I know what it feels like to be at rock bottom. Throughout my life, I have fought deep battles with depression and anxiety where I completely lost my spark and my self-belief. I have faced numerous knee injuries from sports, delt with toxic relationships, went through the heartbreak of losing what I thought was my dream job, battled body image issues, and spent years feeling completely lost and not loving who I was. I was constantly out of shape, and both my body and mind paid the price.

Fitness truly saved me. The gym and weight training became my ultimate escape—a place where I could quiet the noise, face the adversity, and build mental resilience. Everything shifted when I decided to get into bodybuilding and ultimately became an IFBB Bikini Pro. Learning how proper nutrition and weight training connect the body and mind completely blew me away! The overwhelming sense of accomplishment, pride, and self-confidence I gained by doing hard things transformed my physique, entire mental health and my life.

I founded AOC Fitness because I want women in their 30s to discover that exact same life-changing, mental power of fitness. My program isn’t just about changing your physical shape; it’s about giving you the tools to overcome life’s obstacles, beat the mental struggles, and believe in yourself again. I became a Certified Personal Trainer and Nutrition Coach to show you how hand-in-hand the body and mind truly go. No crash diets, no extreme restrictions—just clear, straightforward lifestyle changes to become the best version of yourself.
