We lost a legend in our area today. Ms. Gail was my PE teacher in 8th grade. I used to go to every barrel race I could just to watch her run.

As I got older, we became friends. I cherished that friendship. She was the best horsewoman, but an even more incredible human. My heart is shattered this morning....it's such a tremendous loss.

I should have known when I woke up that the universe had shifted. The sun is a lot brighter, the birds are chirping extra loud, and there is a gentle breeze rustling in the trees. Heaven is certainly rejoicing, but my soul is crushed.

Take me back to Tampa! I am ready for SEMF. I don't want to wait a year. If you haven't attended this show, you are missing out. I wish I had known a decade ago and hadn't missed out on all of those years.

With the insane prices of fuel right now, can everyone who hauls horses let me know what you are charging? I have always charged $1 per mile when traveling out of town.

Last week I traveled 1428 miles for our show in Tampa, including going back and forth to the venue, dinner, and to another farm to pick up a horse. I spent just over $800 in diesel.

A friend of mine had a horse hauled to Ocala last week and she was charged $1200. The trip was about 800 miles.

Break it down for me please....just trying to navigate the new norm.

Huge congratulations again to Emilie and Lord! Winning 10 blue ribbons is an incredible achievement, but what makes me even prouder is Emilie’s generosity. Each ribbon came with a prize ticket, and she immediately chose to share them with her mom, her trainer, me, and our riders. The prizes were absolutely phenomenal, yet she only kept 4 for herself. You are a true champion inside and out, Emilie!
