How to know which class to choose:
Step 1: If you are registering a new student
All new students should choose Intro to Aerial. Teen/Adult students. ages 16yr + up may choose Adult Beginning Aerial.
Here is why we feel this is so important: Everyone needs to learn the foundational skills to become a successful aerialist even if they are already strong and flexible. Each step of our carefully crafted syllabus has been thoughtfully laid out to establish the building blocks for safe and effective progressions.
If you are coming to us with previous aerial experience, please reach out to Miss Lindsay for an evaluation.
Step 2: Returning Students
In general, returning students who were in Beg Aerial or Intro to Aerial last year, will move up to Silks 1, Silks 1 students move up to Silks 2 and so on.
However, if your student was not in class all 3 terms of last school year, they may have not learned all of the material from that class and most likely need to remain in the level they last attended. We know that trying to advance students who have missed important skills and vocabulary can be very frustrating for the student and lead to discouragement. We are always happy to move a student up to the next level as soon as they are ready. It is important to us to challenge our students while keeping them safe and in love with their sport.
Step 3: Is there a fast track?
Absolutely! While each student is unique, one thing we know to be true, is that the more days spent in the studio, the faster our bodies become comfortable in the air and with various skills. We offer a variety of ways to do this:
*Take more than one class weekly. Consider Acrobatic Arts in addition to Silks or take two Silks classes weekly. You will notice on the tuition page that we offer a discount for multiple classes.
*Attend Open Gym as often as possible. Students gain so much confidence while playing and experimenting during this supervised hour of practice time. We see students who do this regularly take off in their ability and proficiency. (Date/Time TBA)
*Private Lessons with Miss Lindsay. Personalized instruction is an investment in your student's aerial journey that can help an aerialist break through plateaus, mental blocks and any skill or vocabulary gaps.
