Thank you to Northern Nurseries out of Cicero for putting on an infield maintenance clinic today in Canton. I took time off of work and spent half a day learning how and when to use specific products and best practices to keep our fields in playable condition. All of this was free too! What a bargain. northernnurseries.com

With all of that said, we are always looking for people that may want to help us keep the fields maintained. No experience necessary either. What an incredible way to give something back to the community. Honestly, its a passion once you start doing it. Laying down chalk line, mowing, dragging infields, its all a blast.

Hey Everyone,
Do we have any farmers that follow this page?

We were hoping we wouldnt need to do any drainage outside of sloping the ground, but unfortunately, seems like we will need to add drainage tile on the soccer field side.

My question is, does anyone know what size the massive rolls of drainage tile are and where to get them. The 250' rolls may have to do but we likely need about 3,750' of pipe. Might be more cost effective for the HUGE roll.

And if anyone has a mini excavator or compact tractor with a backhoe, we invite you to come help 😀

Also, if you have experience with drainage, you should come up and see what we have to work with.

Thanks for the read.

First game is in the books at the upper field! Kids looked to have a great time and field conditions were perfect! We are so happy to have a HOME FIELD.

We will be turning our focus on the lower field construction now.

As a reminder, we only have the lower parking lot open currently. Head coaches with all the bags are permitted to drive up to the shed to park.

(The dirt driveway is under construction and should not be used at this time for your safety.)

We have a rake leaning on the fence. If you are willing to help keep our park in great condition, consider raking some of the heavy spots when the game is done (batters box and near bases).

The birds are still in the parking lot sitting on eggs. Looks like someone may have accidentally bumped the eggs yesterday as they are no longer in the nest. If you find it in your heart, let the bird live her life.

After yesterday's game we lined the field again (mostly just needed the batters box done). Should be in great shape for tonight's 10u Brushton vs Brushton game!!

We have two trash cans at the field, please use them. We will get a recycling can for cans eventually as well.

We are so excited to welcome everyone tonight to your HOME FIELD! Cody O'Connor Park!

What a beautiful day it was today! We got so much done. The Town of Moira Highway Department reached out first thing this morning to lend a hand. They did so much work in one afternoon, its so awesome!

The resurrection of the old driveway has begun!!!

That driveway will lead up to the "coming soon" parking lot at the top of the property. That driveway will keep your kids much safer than cars driving between the fields and thats the name of the game. We are stopping traffic at the lower parking lot for now. Eventually we will have the lot done up top for some parking utilizing the outer driveway. We appreciate your patience!

We have been super busy building dugouts, and putting finishing touches on the infield. We are getting there though.

We have to give a huge shout out to Travis Brockway and Chuck Armstrong for helping us with the dugouts. Mike Helm, Joe Villnave, Stacey Langdon and JulieAnd Curt Lucey for the heavy equipment work and some light equipment (chainsaws).

Everyone that has donated or sponsored or had any hand in this, we appreciate the heck out of you. Our Town is building for our future and its because everyone wanted it enough to make it happen.

We are working tirelessly to get the second field completed soon as well so we can get more teams over here. We are stretching every dollar we can too. Steve and Bubby Rabideau have been very accommodating to help us stretch the dollar as well. They have been instrumental on this build. From steering us to the most cost effective routes to donating their time and tools when they see we need it. They came over to help Adam Martin and Troy Martin to build the foundations for our dugouts.

Its an honor to be a part of this project and this Town. We cant say enough how much we appreciate everything everyone has done to make this happen.

Very soon all BMYS spring sports athletes will have raffle tickets to sell. Please support them with purchasing tickets. Its our biggest fundraiser we do by far. Cash prizes this season!!!

Wow, that post got long.... eeek! Maybe a video next time ;)

Here is a small update on the ball fields.

Lots of work getting done this week and last.

Keep checking back as we post more!

I wanted to add, We were contemplating this style outfield fencing and after talking to Town of Bangor, we pulled the trigger. Tim gave some great feedback from their experience and it seemed like a great choice. Tim has been a supporter of our endeavor over here since day one. Towns working together makes life much easier. Thanks Bangor!
