🎅 Santa Dive Update 🎅

We’re sorry to let you know that, due to circumstances beyond our control, we are unable to hold the Santa Dive this year. We know many of you look forward to it every season, and this is not easy news to share.

If you are still able to donate toys this holiday season, we would love to collect them! Please reach out to any of our board members or to Steve at the shop for information on where to drop them off. 🎁

We’re already looking into options to make sure the Santa Dive returns next year, and we’ll share updates as plans come together. In the meantime, keep an eye on our page for upcoming club dives and events. We’d love to see you there.

California Dream Divers Board of Directors Election 🤿

This year, all seven seats on our Board of Directors are up for election. Voting will take place in person at the club holiday party on Saturday, December 19, 2026.

Why all seven seats?
Two board members recently resigned, leaving two open seats, and three members have stepped forward as candidates. Because the original rotation of board terms is no longer clear, the board will hold an election for the entire board. This resets the term schedule so future elections follow a clear, staggered rotation.

How terms will be assigned
Each member may vote for up to seven candidates. Terms are based on vote totals:

Top three candidates: 3-year terms
Next two candidates: 2-year terms
Final two candidates: 1-year terms

After this election, only two or three seats will come up each year, so the board keeps continuity while members have a regular voice in its makeup.

Electing people, not positions
Members elect individuals to the board, not to specific offices. After the election, the board will decide among themselves who serves as President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and other positions.

It was an absolutely beautiful club dive weekend in Monterey! Excellent visibility and perfect weather. We did some underwater pumpkin carving and everyone brought their A-game and we finished our day with grilled cheese and tomato soup. Thank you all for joining us!

Our annual underwater pumpkin carving will be during the next club dive. Bring a gutted and cleaned pumpkin (no additional markings,) a mesh bag, carving tool, a weight to keep your pumpkin from floating away, and your most creative pumpkin carving skills! There will be prizes!!
