We went a little farther west into the Mississippi Marsh on this trip and got on a good flounder bite. The MinnowZ in Bad Shad color with some shrimp scent was the ticket!

The trout will let you know what they want to hit 🔥 I started out with a Ned rig paddle tail but that was only catching the small fish. Switched to a MirroDine and it was go time!

When the temp drops and the trout go deep, throw a mirrodine and hang on!

Trying to get it done on the river today but my new St. Croix Avid inshore rod took a hit! Happened on a side sweep hook set and the top of the rod hit the trolling motor. I hear St. Croix has a great warranty . Luckily I registered this rod when I first got it and turns out this particular model has a 15 year warranty! On a side note, I missed the fish 🤣 😭 😭

It’s been months since I’ve been on the water but today I got a chance to go out and fish! We dodged some lightning in the process but managed a keeper flounder and red. Kept it simple, just threw a Zman slam shady paddle tail on a 1/4 jig head along the w**d lines. It was good being back in the water, although it was for a few hours.
