🇪🇸🇨🇭 As registration for our Europe retreats winds down, we’ve been thinking about how many women sign up not knowing a single person on the trip.

It’s a big decision. A big investment. And a leap of faith.

One of the coolest things to witness is how quickly a group of strangers can come together through shared rides, great food, new experiences, and plenty of laughs.

Registration for our Switzerland and Spain retreats closes June 27.

You can rewatch our webinar recording that we recorded last week if you’d like to learn more: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aty-vDa_oPs

- Strength training isn’t just about lifting heavier weights. It’s about building a body that can keep doing what we love for years to come.

We have learned that longevity on the bike starts with the work we do off the bike. Whether we’re coaching, riding, traveling, or training, staying strong helps us ride with more confidence, resilience, and joy. 💪

Meredith and I do our best to put in the work so we can continue showing up strong.

A huge thank you to BRANWYN | Performance Innerwear for creating performance apparel that moves with us through every squat, lift, ride, and adventure. We love that their pieces are made from naturally high performing merino wool, offering breathable comfort, moisture management, odor resistance, and all day support whether we’re in the gym or on the trail.

What we’re wearing:

• Lindsey: Branwyn Racerback Bra
• Meredith: Branwyn Racerback Bra and Compression Shorts

Strong bodies. Strong minds. More years doing what we love. ❤️

Downhill season is upon us and we can’t wait! 🤘🚵‍♀️

Don’t miss our ONE downhill camp this year at an amazing new location: Brundage Mountain Resort in McCall, ID! 🎉

🗓️ July 18-19

Think you’re “not a downhiller” because you don’t ride lift access bike parks? Think again! 👀

Most riders struggle with the same things: cornering, confidence on steeper terrain, braking, line choice, and carrying flow downhill. These skills show up on every trail, not just in bike parks. 💪

Bike parks are actually one of the best places to learn because you can repeat trails, build confidence faster, and clearly see your progression. 🙌

Whether you ride local singletrack, epic backcountry adventures, or bike parks, this camp will help you become a stronger, smoother, more confident rider everywhere. 🔥

Come see why downhill is SO much fun! 😍

📍 McCall, ID

🚵‍♀️ All the progression
🎉 All the fun

- 💥 UNWEIGHTING upon impact -

🫣 If you’re getting bounced backward up rock ledges, you’re probably not failing to pedal harder... you’re failing to UNWEIGHT. 👀

✅ Unweighting means creating space for the bike to move up and over things.

👉 In the first clip, I am reminding students to rise and absorb.

Then watch what happens when my student doesn’t absorb the impact:
💥 The bike hits the abrupt angle change
💥 The force pushes back into the rider
💥 Momentum disappears
💥 The rider gets bounced backward or the wheel turns

Now watch my demonstration 👀

Right before impact:
➡️ I lean my chest back slightly
➡️ I extend my arms
➡️ I create room for the bike to press into me

This is the “unweighting” moment.

As the front wheel contacts the rock:
🔹 The bike rises into my body
🔹 I stand taller
🔹 My elbows bend to absorb the pushback instead of fighting it

Think of it this way:
🚲 Let the bike come to you.
🧍 Don’t drive yourself into the bike.

Bonus lesson from this attempt:

😅 I clipped a pedal on the way up, which shifted my weight rearward.

To recover:
➡️ I leaned my chest forward
➡️ Used my arms to push the front wheel over a momentum blocker
➡️ Ratcheted across the top
➡️ Avoided another pedal strike on the next momentum blocker

The best riders aren’t perfect.

They’re constantly making micro adjustments to stay balanced and keep momentum flowing. 💪🔥

👇 Have you ever been told to “unweight” but weren’t really sure what it meant? Explain the situation in comments… ✍️

👉 Friday figure it out!

This rock roll has a steep, abrupt entry that pushes the bike back the moment you hit it. The challenge isn’t just getting up it... it’s managing momentum, body position, and control all the way over the top.

❌ Student Attempt 1:
Too easy of a gear. She spun out and didn’t have enough power to carry momentum over the top.

⚠️ Attempt 2:
Better gear choice, but she slammed into the face of the rock instead of absorbing the impact. The front wheel got wobbly as it climbed, making the top difficult to manage. She stalled and stepped off.

👀 Coach Demo:
Sometimes seeing success helps us visualize our own.

Key moves:
✅ Unweight the front wheel slightly as it hits the rock
✅ Bend the arms and let the bike move into you
✅ Stand tall through the feet and legs as the bike rises
✅ Ratchet the pedals over the top to keep the wheels rolling
✅ Hinge at the hips and lower the chest for control on the steep descent

🎉 Student Attempt 3:
She absorbed the impact while standing up, she ratcheted over the top, and rolled down the other side successfully!

💡 The lesson? Failure isn’t just falling short. It’s information. When you understand *why* something didn’t work, you can make the right adjustment and try again.

Every fail is feedback. Every correction gets you closer to figuring it out. 💪🔥
