When coming to Panther Arts Shorei Kempo, we offer a chance for youth and parents to participate together. Between work and school it can be hard for parent and child to find good quality time together. Enrollment in Panther Arts Shorei Kempo takes away some of that confusion by offering a set schedule. Once a week, for one hour, both parent and child have a planed activity: Karate class! Shorei K
empo is a traditional karate system from Okinawa. It uses “hard” and “soft” style techniques developed by skillful masters to create a form of defense that can be used for the protection of self and others. Karate is based on defensive maneuvers and is not offensive in nature. Panther Arts Shorei Kempo is a school of diversity and depth. We take on a modern training philosophy of ground, stand-up, and weapon training while holding to traditional martial arts values. Our ultimate goal is to obtain a union of the mind, body, and soul; resulting in a good citizen and sound person. We want our students to use their training they receive in the martial arts to assists them in dealing with the stress and challenges faced in life. A true practitioner will embrace all of what he or she has been trained to do, including mental skills as well as the physical. Here a student learns conditioning, confidence, dedication, discipline, honesty, honor, respect for self and others, self-control, and self-defense through a higher level of awareness. We welcome you to give us a try. Classes offered at the Moab Arts and Recreation Center located at 111 East 100 North every Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6PM to 8PM.
