We are beyond proud of our girls and the grit and determination they continue to show everytime they step on the mat!

This past weekend we took five girls out to the 2026 AAU Girls State Tournament in Cedar Rapids IA to wrestle all challengers in the state at their weight and age bringing home two 8th place medals!

If you run into any of these ladies, please congratulate them as they all deserve recognition for the time and effort they have put in, and for the courage it takes to even step on that line!

We want to extend congratulations to our very own Riott Belt on his 7th place finish at this years AAU State wrestling tournament!

As a 5th grader competing in a 5th & 6th grade division, this is a true testament to his work ethic and determination! The future is bright!

This post greatly sums up a lot of what I see year to year in our early wrestlers! It’s a long road, don’t forget to pat them on the back and encourage them!

Most kids quit wrestling right before it starts working

Wrestling improvement is delayed.
That’s what makes it honest.

Early on, kids work hard and lose anyway.
They practice and don’t see immediate results.
Their effort doesn’t match the outcome.

This is the danger zone.

It’s where frustration sets in.
Where doubt grows.
Where quitting feels justified.

And it’s often right before things change.

Wrestling rewards patience in a world addicted to instant feedback.

If a child stays just a little longer, their body adapts.
Their timing improves.
Their confidence stabilizes.

What once felt impossible starts to feel manageable.

Wrestling teaches kids to trust progress they cannot yet see.
To keep working without guarantees.

That lesson shapes how they approach everything later in life.

The month of January is a hectic one for your coach! Take it easy on him! 😂 we’ve been hitting it hard as usual! Our beginners have grown like weeds in their ability and comfort on the mat! It’s time to switch gears and focus on our advanced kids in their preparation for the post season!
