To Missouri Valley Families:

YEA has opened registration for Spring 2026, but has announced that the U8 and above divisions will no longer be playing games in Missouri Valley. This comes as a shock to many MV families who wish to play locally, and in the traditional Logan/Woodbine/Dunlap circuit. In result of this decision by YEA, AYSO would like the community's help in keeping youth soccer local in Missouri Valley by re-launching the programming many of you were a part of for over 30 years, and at the Missouri Valley Soccer Complex. We have secured access to to the facility, and want to get kids on Missouri Valley grass this Spring!

Last night the MV City Council made a reckless and uninformed decision to outright cancel its lease with AYSO, jeopardizing soccer programming in Missouri Valley. The nature of the termination was immediate, in violation of the agreement in place, and leaves families in the dark as to whether their kids will have access to quality soccer programming this Spring or not. There was also no discussion or decision as to who would take over the soccer fields, further leaving families in the dark. While we work to navigate these circumstances, we are asking families to contact city officials and share your frustration with this sudden decision. MV AYSO is fully funded, established in the community, and has all the means to continue soccer programming in the community. AYSO has registration systems, background checks for volunteers, a volunteer training curriculum, equipment, soccer goals, a local volunteer staff, and a playing circuit with Logan/Woodbine/Dunlap. MV AYSO is also in the process of creating additional playing opportunities for kids, including an indoor program. Any other group wanting to take over the soccer fields would be starting from scratch with no equipment, soccer goals, no training curriculum, little or no insurance for players, and little regard for proper volunteer screening. We remain determined to offer AYSO programming to MV families, and provided the City with an alternative lease agreement that heavily favors the City, soccer families of MV, and other organizations who wish to utilize the facility. Please tell City officials to review and reconsider the alternative lease that was provided to them, and not hurt MV soccer families in the process.

Please join us this Monday night for an informational meeting at the Missouri Valley Soccer fields between 5:30 and 7. We will be available to answer questions and talk about the awesome plans we have for soccer in Missouri Valley. We will have nets ready and soccer balls out for kids to play. Registration is open for both Harlan AYSO and Missouri Valley Soccer! Practices will be in your "home location" and games will be in Harlan or Atlantic. Please reach out if you have any questions!
**Missouri Valley-this is something new for Fall being offered which is why the travel is further. Spring will be your normal league play**
