1000 New Gardens

We are pleased to announce our first weekend of seedlings and seed distribution! Plants will be available at our donated greenhouse space at the ECOR plant lab, located just east of the ASUM community garden. We will be distributing veggies that are hardy and ready to go in the ground now: kale, chard, broccoli, mustard greens, green onions and more! If possible, bring a tray, box, pot, egg carton, etc to transport your new babies home in so we can conserve our trays. Be prepared to get your hands a little dirty 🤠

We will have folks on hand to answer planting questions, some gardening education materials to take home, and a sign-up for other supplies you may need (compost, hand tools, etc).

If all goes well this weekend, we will use this same schedule to distribute seedlings every weekend through last frost (approx end of May). We will be there Fri 10-1; Sat 12-3, Sun 4-7.

Getting to the greenhouse is a bit tricky, turn into the Lewis & Clark apartments parking lot, go to the northeast corner where you’ll see a dirt road. Follow the dirt road east past the community garden til you see the greenhouses. We will be outside, you’ll see us.

Snaps from last year’s plant sale prep! Last year, we sold houseplants in upcycled containers to raise money for the 🍽 Special thanks to everybody who came out and helped with this project, we hope to see you all again this April on the 16th for Dig Day 🧑🏽‍🌾

Hey 1000 New Gardens community! We are so excited about all the requests for free garden beds this Spring, and are beginning to sort through them. Now we're calling for volunteers to help us build and install these garden beds on April 16th. The more volunteers we can get signed up, the more requests for gardens we will be able to fill.
