Another big passion of Susan is her appreciation of veterans and their dedication to our country. She and her husband Jack help with many welcome home and send off events. For the third edition of Colorado's Biggest Bucks and Bulls, Susan co-authored the book with her third son Richard. She was pregnant with Richard when she wrote the first edition of the book so it is fitting that for the 30th anniversary edition, Richard write the book with his mother. Some of Susan's other books are "The Adventures of Moccasin Joe: True Life Adventures of Sgt. Howard; Spirit of the Wilderness; Records of North American Big Game, 10th Edition; hunting books on elk, mule deer, whitetail deer, pronghorn, wild sheep and moose. She is the coordinating editor and primary author of the book, Putting Sheep on the Mountain, that is all about efforts to help wild sheep of North America. In addition to writing books, Susan enjoys working as the business development officer for Outdoor Trails Media and their weekly syndicated show, "The Revolution with Jim and Trav," that is all about shooting, hunting, fishing and all sorts of outdoor adventures. The weekly show is heard on 419 stations throughout the United States and on the American Forces Network that broadcasts radio shows to all military and embassy personnel around the world.
