Glacier Ice Rink has provided hockey and other recreational ice skating activities for the Missoula community since 1997. We are owned and operated by the Missoula Area Youth Hockey Association, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Each year, we receive nearly 90,000 visits through our in-house hockey and skating programs and the external user groups who rent our ice. We receive no government fundi

ng and generate income through our program fees, ice rentals, and the generosity of sponsors and donors.

This week, we presented this year’s Colin Moffatt Snodgrass Memorial Scholarship to two outstanding youth players, with Cameron Barlow receiving the travel hockey award and Jaxson Mahler receiving the house hockey award. Congrats Cameron and Jaxson!

The scholarships are awarded yearly to a house player and a travel player who demonstrates Colin’s core values both on and off the ice.

Today we're taking the time to wish our dear friend Valerie RichMoody (right) the happiest of birthdays! If you've been around for a youth hockey game, chances are you've come across the absolute gem of a person that is Val. Among many other titles, she's one of the trainers from University of Montana Athletic Training that helps to support hockey events at the rink. Our community wouldn't be the same without her, so if you see her or get a chance to talk to her tonight, make sure to wish her a happy birthday and thank her for all that she does!

Well, its that time of year again. With warm weather and patio season upon us, we're getting ready to close our doors for the summer. We officially end the season on the 29th, but with Memorial Day weekend coming up, we're ending public programs this week. If you're craving a last skate or two, these are you final options! Do you want to go to free, sold out concerts this summer? Do you want to help your favorite Missoula ice rink? Does the warmer weather just have you thinking about concert season? Well, we have an opportunity for you!

We're looking for volunteers to help us control parking at KettleHouse Amphitheater this summer! Volunteers work either opening or closing shift at the venue, and volunteering grants you free entry into the concert. Registration is open and volunteers can sign up for shifts for the following concerts:
The Dead South June 13th
The Turnpike Troubadours June 26th (Sold Out Concert)
Josiah Queen July 30th
Simple Plan August 1st (Sold Out Concert)

8 volunteers are required per concert (4 per shift) and spaces, especially for sold out concerts, can fill quickly, so sign up today here: https://bit.ly/4dHxwXP

Time and time again, this community has shown its care and support for the ice rink and this week has been no different. Your donations helped us blow well past our expectations, and we can not thank you enough!
