R.I.P PFC Diego Montoya Gone but not forgotten, R.I.P War Hero. April 14th, 1990 to September 2nd, 2010.

PFC Montoya was a graduate of Golf Company 787 July 2009 through December 2009 MP OSUT training. He was a part of 2nd platoon and had heard the name of "War Hero" due to the letters I'm sure everyone in basic remembers. He was stationed here at Fort Hood as apart of the 89th MP's and was excited to deploy to Afghanistan in April. Montoya would've never wanted to pass this young, but the way he pas

sed gave him honor, and he would probably be proud of that. I don't know Montoya well enough to give a description of him and include everything required to describe Montoya so everyone post what you liked and miss about Montoya most so we can all share our memories and experiences of a wonderful soldier.

This Memorial Day looked a little different for me this year . I was not able to be in Mission to read my annual poem because my husband's family planned a long-awaited reunion here in San Antonio. I'm grateful we could get together, even though I missed being back home for this day. And I realize that life does go on!
My Memorial Day
Yes, all gave some, but some gave all,
and so Memorial Day…
For it was with their life,
they, for our freedom, paid.
My son, an army soldier
In a casket did come home,
Like other fallen heroes,
who never made it home.
250 years we’ve fought
the cost of freedom takes its claim.
And in every battle history writes
The sacrifice is still the same.
Though every battlefield does change
The folded flags and tears remain.
And each grave marks our loved one’s name.
So, for ONLY those who paid full price,
for freedom’s not a gift we borrow-
Let us not forget their sacrifice.
paid in blood, and grief and sorrow.

Happy Birthday to my Mom!!!! Today ,she turns 90!!!! This weekend we celebrated with family and her bff these days, Petra!!! Her hip surgery did not allow me to make grander plans for her 90th, but she was quite happy with our gathering at one of her favorite places and she said it was all she needed to be surrounded by her family!!!! Thank you, Lord for who You are in our lives!

Up date on mom . Her surgery went well! They did a partial hip replacement and tomorrow the PT will assess. My dilemma is going to be to leave her here in CC to rehab 2-3 weeks or transport her to SA in 2 days by ambulance… her surgeon would rather she stay in Corpus. I’m leaning towards that; the ride would be horrible after just having surgery! Thank you all again for prayers that went up for mom! She’ll turn 90 next month!

Been 365 days x 14.
Been 365 days times one four
My heart KNOWS very well I’ll see you no more;
not in my lifetime so not here on Earth,
not in the place where I gave you birth.
Today I thank God for His promises kept.
Gone are the days I’d done nothing but wept.
The darkest of days for me are now gone…
And the sun does now shine in the early morn.
The Lord’s walked me through this very long way;
exactly 14 x three sixty-five days!
His loving kindness and mercy and grace,
gave me all that I needed to each day face.
As I look back through these fourteen years,
He’s mending my heart and has counted my tears.
He’s given me purpose, a hope promised too!
When I get to heaven, I WILL SEE YOU!!!!
Every day I still miss you and I wish you were here.
My heart’s learned to hold you and feel you so near.
And when Sadness comes and lingers too long,
the Lord always comes to make my heart strong.
He’ll give me a song , a promise or word,
He’ll speak to my heart in a way I’ve not heard.
My strength is renewed and I carry on.
I’m amazed since that day, how far I have come.
Today we will gather and think about you;
tell stories of things you’d say and you’d do!
We’ll all speculate of what might have been…
And I’ll be at peace while surrounded by kin.
I’ll never stop longing for you to be here;
Not even today on this 14th year.
For God’s plan is perfect, it’s unfolded right.
His grace I receive as I walk in His light!
We love you and miss you,Diego!!!!!

42 Then Jesus said to him, "Receive your sight; your faith has made you well." 43 And immediately he received his sight, and followed Him, glorifying God. And all the people, when they saw it, gave praise to God.

FAITH. In the scripture it says,"YOUR FAITH HAS MADE YOU WELL". YOUR Faith, MY FAITH; the point is WE ALL HAVE IT, for
another scripture says that we have ALL BEEN GIVEN A MEASURE OF FAITH! I don't have more than YOU.You don't have more than me.
This blind person received his sight IMMEDIATELY. He didnt take time to DOUBT,QUESTION, OVER THINK ,or LOOK AT HIS CIRCUMSTANCE!
Many times people pray,"Lord , give me MORE faith,help me to HAVE faith! The Lord is probably saying,"I ALREADY gave it to you"!
What it is we must deal with is UNBELIEF! UNBELIEF WILL CANCEL THE FAITH YOU ALREADY HAVE IN AN INSTANT!
Like the man who asked the Lord, "HELP ME WITH MY UNBELIEF".( now there is a more effective request). So today perhaps it is something to think about. DO YOU BELIEVE( HE can do ANYTHING IN YOUR LIFE)? IF YOU DO, then PUT IN YOUR REQUEST, and go ON ABOUT YOUR DAY NOT looking at outward circumstances,or question, or overthink your problems;instead look to the HORIZON BECAUSE THE ANSWER IS ON ITS WAY! LIVE WITH EXPECTATION (to your prayers)FOR the SOLUTIONS coming your way! P.S. remember that the blind man THEN 1. FOLLOWED HIM,2. GAVE HIM GLORY 3. those AROUND the man saw the power of the LORD, THEY gave praise to GOD!!!! So today USE THAT FAITH YOU ALREADY HAVE and get rid of the UNBELIEF!!!!! Blessings everyone!!!

If you’re going to talk about anyone today, talk about Jesus!

You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you! Isaiah 26:3

SOOOOOOOOOOO the million dollar question is, how many times are you going to TRUST IN GOD? Once, twice, thrice? That's it and you are done trusting in Him? ORRRRRR are you going to TRUST IN HIM FOR ALL YOUR NEEDS AND CIRCUMSTANCES EVERYTIME? Are you going to trust Him for THIS and NOT FOR THAT? Think of JUST ONE TIME THE LORD SAW YOU THRU A DIFFICULT TIME. The Lord does not change- EVER. If HE has BEEN FAITHFUL to you once, HE WILL ALWAYS BE FAITHFUL; Just like that friend whom you can always TRUST and DEPEND ON ; the kind that is ALWAYS THERE FOR YOU!!! It is when we decide to TRUST HIM that we also come to a place of PEACE AND REST! There is great ANXIETY and FEAR( they go hand in hand) in people these days due to circumstances people feel are"OUT OF THEIR CONTROL. WE MUST NOT LET THOSE FEARS MAKE US FORGET WHAT HE HAS DONE FOR US! Fear is what makes us RUN TO a QUICK FIX OR ANSWER; WE START TO TAKE MATTERS INTO OUR OWN HANDS. PS. You trust the pilot when you fly and you don’t know HIM but you sit and relax on a flight! So TODAY, before we start running around like chickens without heads, let our imaginations run wild or cause blood pressures to go sky high , LET US FIX OUR THOUGHTS ON HIM! THE SCRIPTURE PROMISES THAT THEN, HE WILL KEEP US IN "PERFECT PEACE"! You decide!!!! Let us not FIX our eyes on the circumstances of today, but rather on the ONE who can CHANGE THE CIRCUMSTANCES!!!! AMEN!!! Ready? GO! Have A PEACEFUL DAY EVERYONE!!!!
